Since Michigan (and Ohio) are face covering states, I went to Indiana yesterday to pick up a few 'essentials'. I was in Fremont and then over to Angola before returning home. Not a single person I saw had their face covered. It was nice to see 'normal' again.

Yes, I live in Jackson. I am generally conservative myself, but am strongly opposed to the face covering put upon us by our governor. Indiana is actually closer to me (around 60 miles) than where I work. My 2004 WRX (561k miles) still gets around 30 miles/gallon and with the low price of gasoline (especially in Albion), the fuel cost isn't that much.

That answers that question. As for the mask.. I’ve done it once in Kroger. Otherwise you don’t need a mask to walk down the street. Just in an enclosed and relatively populated area.
