The Company thought they could break the Rubber Workers Union. They almost did. But, on the brink of insolvency, the Rubber workers merged with our Union. At that point, the Company knew they were beat. We had a new collective agreement within days.

Firestone decided to get rubber from China. We studied the case in my business ethics class. That was where the rubber met the road.

Perhaps, but the class was designed to keep us lawful in our business dealings. Kind of important for business grads to know.

In my work with the Union, I dealt with many employers. Some of them were ethical and some were real stinkers, Not just to their employees but to their customers, their shareholders, their creditors and their communities.
