We should name expected-to-be-weak storms after crappy cars, like Hurricane Pinto, Yugo, or Edsel.
Was Edsel really a crappy car? I thought it was only a marketing failure.
I read somewhere that they actually weren’t bad if you could get past the goofy grill…

Seminole, In the Tampa Bay area. Just outside of St Pete.

Legend has it that an old Seminole Chief who lived a couple of hundred years ago keeps watch over our town and protects us. I hope he's standing by.

So, I've had to temporarily surrender my working class credentials.

At my wife's urging I went out and got a cell phone to get us through the storm. The first month of the plan was included in the price. At the end of that month, I won't bother renewing. I'll put my working class hat back on.

A Starbucks gift card is in the mail. Welcome to the dark side.

Also don’t be out in all that wind… you might blow away and end up in Niceville.

Seriously… stay safe down there.

You go, Jebediah!

As long as the phone only has the '9' and '1' buttons on it (and maybe '0', in case operator-assisted calling is desired or required), I'm sure you can leave your hat on.

I love when my family and friends who reside in Florida, give me sh*t when we get clobbered with a major snowstorm or temps fall below zero..
Posting pics of being on the beach in Jan/Feb, and screenshots from weather apps telling us all it's 80 degrees in sunny Florida while it's the dead of winter here in The Mitten
Well paybacks a b*tch I say...
Or shall I refrain from any smack talk as they endure what most likely will turn into a Category 5

Stores are completely sold out of things like bottled water and batteries. The way people were hauling plywood out of Home Depot, I expect it will be sold out too.

Why do people NOT have a supply of batteries? I have them in an earthquake supply kit, but always have them since they tend to get used every fucking day.

I will never be caught without batteries. I'm a battery geek.

Among the old people here in the park, I've somehow got a reputation as the go to guy when the TV isn't working. Almost invariably, it turns out just to be dead batteries in the remote. When I tell them they need new batteries, they go and dig around in a drawer and bring out some old batteries they've already taken out of something else that didn't work.

Now, I take new batteries with me and tell them thay can have them only if they give me their old ones.
