Can anyone give information as to the years Keener 14 was on the air in Battle Creek. WKNR Keener 13 from Dearborn was known as Keener 13 from 1963-1972 and resurfaced for a short time in the late 70’s with the calls WWKR. Also there is an internet station from Marshall, Michigan known as Keener 16.

If you haven't seen it, Scott Westerman has put together a fantastic website on the original Keener 13: https://keener13.com/

Great site. I enjoy it very much. Also you can access Keener 13 internet radio on various internet radio websites. Just Google Keener 13 and they’re there.

Listening to that station made me want to get into radio. When I lived in Southfield, Bob Green purchased a house a few blocks from me. Took all my nerve to knock on his door and talk to him...he was a very nice man.

Worked in GR at WLAV and Mike Joseph came into the station and turned it all talk. One of the biggest pricks I ever met in my life.

In my opinion Keener 13 was so much better than CKLW. I used to tune in to WLS and WCFL from Chicago before tuning to The Big 8 at night always. Just wasn’t a fan of CKLW. Keener 13 and even WXYZ radio 1270 also WCAR The Giant 11 for a spell back in the way early 70’s. In 1971 I graduated to FM and tuned in to the FM rockers WABX, CJOM, WWWW and WRIF.
