WJBK supposedly stood for "Jesus Be Kind" long before teleministries were even an idea. But look at TV2's past and one wonders if anyone took that seriously or even knew, especially during the Bill Flynn era.

WGER - James GERity Jr. owned the station when it was on 102.5
WKBD - Kaiser Broadcasting Detroit
WTTH (now WPHM) - the original owner, the Times-Herald (Port Huron)

Canada had a few as well: CFTR Toronto (TR = Ted Rogers), CFRA Ottawa (FRA = Frank Ryan, the original owner back in the '40s)

I despised that "TV2 is yours" and the crappy logo that looked like it was designed by grade-schoolers, The slogans that followed "2 Together for The Look of Detroit" and "2 is the one!" Both of them were much better concepts and had classier looking logos. Still not impressed with "Fox 2". It might as well be called "Murdoch's Two, Too Much!"

1979, Robbie Timmons was hot stuff, hell, I watched CBS2's news just because.

Also then, ABC had the song "Still the One" by Orleans reworked for the 79-80 fall season premieres

I recall, and Wikipedia also mentions, WPAG standing for Paul and Art Greene, who with Edward "Ted" Baughn, owned the station back in the early years.

Its' successor calls included WPZA (owned by Tom Monaghan - no prize for guessing that one) and its' current name, WTKA, for Ticket Ann Arbor, I'd assume.

Another interesting tidbit from The radio dial, WJBK WAS 1500 for a long time but then got new call letters too often, and different formats to find a niche in the Detroit listening market. One iteration , after several other attempts, was WDEE (stage whispers; "We've Done Everything Else")
