Heard it on MTV's "The Week In Rock" (with Kurt Loder & Tabitha Soren). John was only 43 years old. Also the late Kurt Cobain of Nirvana took an overdose on drugs that nearly killed him (Kurt committed suicide on April 5, 1994).

One of many great talents from Canada, I loved John a natural comedian, Some comedians try to be funny not John he was true to his craft, 25 years later and I still miss him.

He was a one-of-a-kind - growing up his movies were some of my favorites, with Planes Trains and Automobiles at the top of that list and Uncle Buck a close second.

Even his role in Canadian Bacon made the movie worth watching. (That, and Alan Alda's classic line)
