Nice Map If This Link Works

The technical side of broadcasting. Think IBOC is a sham? Talk about it here! How about HDTV? Post DX reports here as well.

Thanks for posting the data from Hatfield & Dawson. That is convincing, for sure.

WCCW turned the tables around with their 50 kW Daytime application, measuring an extension of two WOOD proof radials, 355 degrees true and 15 degrees true. This also proves that they probably didn't need to turn in the license for WHGR 1290, as measured radials on both WOOD and WHGR would clear with its ~5 kW nondirectional, or at the very most require a power reduction or directionalization to clear WOOD. The last WHGR site was at the top of a sandy hill at the WUPS site, which probably had a neighborhood conductivity of 0.1-1 mS/m. The radial extensions are in the last 4 pages of this link.

Your research and reporting on all of this shows a rare and useful talent. Thanks.

The WOOD radial extensions go into Newaygo and Montcalm Counties. Newaygo County has pretty bad conductivity. WSHN 1550 gave up with 1000 watts. WBFC 1490 with 100 watts moved to Whitehall. Montcalm MIGHT be little better.
