I spent three days in Niagara Falls NY last month. I heard it there.

Some of the Toronto FMs get into the Buffalo Niagara area. I don't know if they have any listeners.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Understood ,but today no one has experienced AM radio like us older radio geeks have so that’s why I said FM Border Blasters but your right AM was king as far as the subject goes even on the Northern Border there were many stations that covered a lot of miles into the States.

As others have said, the GTA stations boom into the Buffalo market as they are only 60 miles away and mostly across open water at that. I used to live in Buffalo and all the stations in that area came in on seek or at least close to it and most have a very loyal audience in WNY.

Stations like CHUM are popular, and 102.1 The Edge was hugely popular in Buffalo when I lived there because of the Canadian content rules that gave them far more variety of rock music than the US stations. The big ones are easy to hear: 90.3 91.1 92.5 94.1 96.3 97.3 98.1 99.1 99.9 102.1 103.5 (fringe) 104.5 107.1, along with Hamilton 94.7 95.3 102.9 107.9, Niagara 97.7 (also very popular in Buffalo as far as rock stations go, as it is also a local signal and has been the same station, same format, same name for decades; 105.7, 101.1, etc.

FM96 is 300kw and was, as mentioned, easily audible in Erie, but yes... Erie, the new home of all things LP and translator... I did a bandscan there as part of my radio project this summer, and damn, it's radio hell now. Erie is comparable to places like Sheboygan, where all the translators go to kill radio.

The only areas where border stations have a heavy influence and also have revised Cancon rules (some percent less for border stations compared to non-border stations, I believe it's 20% vs. 35%) is Detroit and Buffalo. Montreal is widely listened to in northern New England as it's another border city, but it's mainly rural compared to the urban areas on the US side elsewhere, and the west coast (Vancouver, Seattle) seems to have their own markets and are separated by enough miles.
