Hallmark Movie Channel started the wall-to-wall Christmas flicks October 24th, sans Lori Loughlin.

Shortwave is the ORIGINAL satellite radio.

December 17. It's no longer creep. I've been listening to Holiday Traditions CH 73.

The Holiday Traditions channel ended sometime overnight last night. Last year they continued it right through until New Years. I liked that. I'd rather hear Christmas music a few days after Christmas than two months before Christmas.

Hallmark Channel 70 is still going. But their Christmas music is interspersed with a lot of mindless chatter.

Copy that Turkeytop- the ole 12 Days of Christmas doesn't go beyond 'Boxing Day' anymore, as CKLW used to have 24/7 Xmas music on December 26th, now friggin SXM has to see how fast that they can get that sonnofabitching Billy Joel friggin channel back on the air. Screw these single artist channels hogging up bandwidth. I want the niche channels, the stuff you can't get over the air anywhere else, like MOR 50s-70s, Beautiful Instrumentals, Classic Country, Folk, and not 17 "rock star" individual artist channels- anybody can get that garbage online anywhere or play their 3 CD's over again 100 times. FWIW, the only single artist channels I deem of any value on SXM is Sinatra, Beatles and Elvis. Hell, if you go by 1970's record sales and radio airplay, the friggin Carpenters should have a channel before Bruce/E-street, DMB, Tom Petty (RIP), Buffet, Pearl Jam, Grateful Dead, Phish & BJ.

It's back. Their Hallmark Channel is now All Christmas. They've been promoting it, saying "In times like this, we all need a little Christmas."

To me, Christmas music at this time, would just be a reminder of what an eerie, surreal world we're living in.

Why don't they call the channel "The Grinch"?

It's similar to Christmas Creep.

I doubt I'm the only one who feels this way, but I think playing Christmas music during something like this is disgusting. It just doesn't seem appropriate, and honestly makes me think that they're doing nothing more than capitalizing on a pandemic, not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts...but maybe I'm wrong. I have been before...

take this job and shove it

Some terrestrial radio stations are adding Christmas music to its playlist. For example, from Fort Wayne:

So, SXM started with Christmas this year around Nov 1. They ended it Dec 26 at 3:00 AM.

I'd rather they start a few weeks later than they do, and keep it going for a few days after Christmas.

Turkeytop, I agree with you there; whatever happened to the Twelve Days of Christmas between Christmas/NewYears/Epiphany? Many churches consider it Christmas until January 6th, so why can't SXM let it play out until January 2nd? The only station I've heard some appropriately placed Christmas music is on the primarily instrumental SXM 69 Escape.

Here in Canada, Christmas is a two day holiday, Christmas and Boxing Day. So, on Boxing Day, it still feels like Christmas, but there in no Christmas music. In previous years, SXM kept at least one of the channels going up to New Years Eve.
