I'm going to start this thread here. Some may say it belongs on the Metro Detroit forum but I think it's a more general thought.
As everyone knows, CBS is spending major pennies to start up a local newscast in Detroit. It seems to me one of the best ways to let viewers know would be to advertise it on other stations. I know. Radical Dude. Something that would probably never happen.
I see stations plug themselves all day long during their own newscast. But how effective is that for increasing viewers?
Is there anything other than professional courtesy that would prevent one station from running spots on other stations?

They may as well do so on 950.
They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

In the DC area many years ago, there was some sort of contest, where the grand prize was 30 minutes of commercial time on Channel 20. The winner was Channel 5.

In 2001, channel 5 would win again -- this time, by getting the entire station, after Fox acquired channel 20.
