Super sleuth! Great catch! You are correct, a poster's "joined" date is obviously the first time that poster became aware of this board's existence, and it isn't possible they have been viewing said board prior to that. Kager is also correct. I created intensive AI bots to search this board and all previous incarnations of it, all the way back to the late 90's and the Michiguide board in order to find interesting topics to discuss here today.
