With the Coronovirus..are any local radio stations allowed to stay on((daytime only ones)) or stay on with full power as opposed to powering down???
Might be a moot point since aren't most local these days....

If not a tornado or hurricane, i would say no.

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

Some years ago I heard a Tulsa station opreating on day time antennas , overpowering CFTR from Toronto ! It was during an ice storm with many jack knifed trucks blocking the hiways.

Detroit area has only a few daytimers I can think of,
WUFL 1030 in Mt Clemens Goes down at sunset, so we can listen to WBZ all night.
Any others ?
560 in Monroe switches to a very low power (16 Watts) transmitter in Royal oak/Oak Park, at sunset.... !

I often listen to CFTR. It isn't unheard of for them to stay on their night time antenna pattern during the day. Someone just forgets to make the switch. It seems to happen more frequently right after the switch from standard to daylight time or from daylight to standard. I've often wondered if the responsibility to do it falls to a different person at that time.

A few times, I've called them or sent them an e mail to alert them to the problem.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.
