The problem with this is that 80s music has absolutely no resemblance to the music of "today," and I find it hard to believe that the same audience would tune in for both of these styles. Also, still stunned that Saginaw/Bay City doesn't have a true "Classic Hits" station. Since WHNN fucked itself in the ass a couple of years back, there's been a H*** void (pun not intended).
97.7 WMPX flipped to classic hits over a year ago but their signal doesn’t cover all of Saginaw County. Thinking 97.3 Joe FM has skewed more classic hits now versus variety hits
Heh... when Joe FM's playlist literally went from Green Day, Quiet Riot, and then Bee Gees with the voiceover "Only Joe FM could bring you from Quiet Riot to Bee Gees and keep your foot tapping." Wow...
I noticed that 97.3 tweaked it's imaging lately. No more "Joe FM," but now "Joe 97 3."

Interesting. I don't listen to 97.3 very often. Wonder if there is another "Joe FM" or similar in the area? Or perhaps a station on a close frequency?

WDEE-FM in Reed City/Big Rapids impedes WMJO's signal going west. WMJO starts to give way to WDEE at about Mount Pleasant. WJIM-FM in Lansing on 97.5 is a giant and comes in well in parts of Saginaw County.

97.7 WTGV went classic hits a few years ago to fill some of the void in the Thumb area (WHNN gets into Sanilac County better than most of the other Tri-Cities stations (including WIOG)). With CHOK gone country (again) they're now the only classic hits station in the Blue Water area as well.

My 104.3 in Mount Pleasant is also an option for listeners in the Midland area and points west.

There's WLEW-FM too, but I consider them more a broad-based Adult Hits format than true Classic Hits - they play everything from Lesley Gore to Bebe Rexha.

Its sister station in Lansing made a similar move. 101.7 Mike FM is now Mike 101.7.
