2020 predictions for Toledo radio/TV.
It's that time of year again for predictions. I'm thinking not too many big changes this year, but here's what I think could happen. 1. 106.5 might flip to a new format, depending on what happens with the station trust situation. Possibly religious. 2. After a few years of health issues, including a...

Re: Another horrendous book for Q105
When did Franz get 86'd? I'm at work during the drive home, so I have not had time to notice. I remember his stint at WSPD around 2004. I didn't know Frantz was gone until it got brought up on a Twitter thread involving the local morning host on 1230 yesterday. Apparently at the end of October. I a...

Re: Another horrendous book for Q105
That awful fake local sports show with Bob Frantz got dropped from 106.5, in favor of running ESPN Radio 23 hours a day weekdays unless the Buckeyes play, and the ratings actually went up. That's funny. I really was bummed when Norm was fired. Despite Bob once being a big name in the area around 20...

101.5 the River in Toledo uses this slogan, and I believe WNIC uses it as well.ChrisWL1980 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 6:54 pmDoesn't WFMK brand as "'80s to Now"? Last I checked, many of the iHeart AC stations were branding that way as well.

Re: Another horrendous book for Q105
K100's numbers are slipping; 92.5 Kiss FM just scored its strongest showing in a long time. https://ratings.radio-online.com/content/arb097 Kiss, River, K100, WIOT, WRQN, WXKR and probably Mix 95.7 are the only stations worth a damn in T-Town. The other stations are only good for "freebie" buys and...

Re: Amy D fired from K100?
I thought Andy Stuart was able to justify keeping Timmy and Becky by having them VT two other stations while they were on their 93.5 shift? Is that no longer the case? Bill Stewart's voicetracking is so obvious, it's horrible. So what's the deal, BS gets one hour pay to VT 4 hours? Bye Amy- you tho...

Re: Amy D fired from K100?
I Talked to a buddy of mine who knows people from Cumulus. He told me her ratings were down but wanted a raise because of her seniority. She said she would leave the station if she didn't get the raise, so they fired her instead. It just shows how loyal Cumulus is to their longtime employees. NOT! :...

Re: Andrew Humphrey of WDIV cannot forecast worth a shit!
I'll give him some credit - his forecast for the afternoon hours turned out to be a lot more accurate than his morning forecast! If he wants to plug events - why not put them in a self-contained list below the actual forecast? I agree with you, enthusiast. I agree that the events should be in a lis...

Re: Andrew Humphrey of WDIV cannot forecast worth a shit!
I looked at the link. Why would he need to put random events alongside the forecast? I don't have a problem with one big event, but DOZENS? Never seen a meteorologist do something like that before. Most people who check the forecast could care less about those events he's listing. Just stick to givi...

Re: Amy D fired from K100?
I personally liked Amy really well and I thought she did a fairly decent job over at K100. I'm starting to get tired of hearing Johny D on every station. Seems like an interesting development.

Re: Another horrendous book for Q105
The fact Cumulus hasn't gone all-Christmas on 105.5 is asinine. I would love to see 105.5 flip to All-Christmas. It would give the River a run for its money. When 98.3 was still AC as My 98.3 a few years ago, I thought their playlist was better than IHeart's generic corporate playlist. Not sure if ...

Saw a billboard on the Trail for WBCL a few days ago as well. This is WTPG 88.9 simulcasting WBCL'S satellite feed. They started airing it around the 1st of November.

Re: Lynn Martin Show - Lynn's Final Hour!
Dan's an OK jock on 93.9 but not the best, IMO. Not sure if he has any experience in talk radio, though. I think there could have been some better choices to replace Lynn. Definitely a big downgrade for CKLW.
