Re: Lions are returning to 97.1 The Ticket
Sean Baligian tweeted he will not be going to 97.1 with the Lions. That's a shame, Baligian would have been a good addition to the Ticket.

Re: Lions are returning to 97.1 The Ticket
Will Sean Baligian be on 97.1 now? They should put Sean on the morning show with Stoney and Jansen.

Re: Lions are returning to 97.1 The Ticket
Say what you want about Mike Valenti, love him or hate him, he's never been anything but honest about the Lions and what a sad sack, pathetic franchise they are. He's never pulled punches on ownership, management, front office, or coaching. Did he cross a line reading the Corey Smith ticket text on ...

Re: Radio Ratings: October 8 - November 4
If Cumeless insists on 93.1 staying country, knowing that corporate radio would never be adventurous enough to try an alt-country/real country format, they should at least flip it to Nash Icon/country gold. Brand it something like Real Country 93.1 FM, Detroit's Real Country 93.1 FM, Country 93.1 WD...

Re: The Breeze Drifts Away
Kevin O'Neill and Lisa Barry in the mornings and Detroit's soft rock favorites all day long are on Q 93.1, WDRQ FM. Kevin works for Cumulus still does he not? Why not make him PD and morning show host? Mornings: Kevin O'Neill and Lisa Barry Middays: Sandy Kovach Afternoons: Chuck Edwards Nights: Ren...

Entercom should move Chadd and Kristy over 99.5 WYCD to replace the current voice tracked afternoon drive show. They won't though.

Re: RIP 89X
Corporate radio never new, never original. I don't know that a station that plays Brandy Clark, Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, and Turnpike Troubadours would succeed, but hell if it wouldn't have been interesting.

Re: RIP 89X
What are the odds I can get an alt-country and/or real country format on 93.9? A station that plays a mix of real country and alt-country artists and leaves out the Jason Aldean's, Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line and all the pop and bro bullshit? Give me artists like Aaron Lewis, Ashley Monroe, ...

Re: WDRQ must be making WYCD sweat
Who would have thought a year ago that 93.1 would be the station that would be live and local (almost) all day and 99.5 would be the one with canned content and voice tracking? DJ's and strong talent were the cornerstone of WYCD since its inception as Young Country 99.5 back in 1993. Oh well, corpor...

Re: WDRQ must be making WYCD sweat
I know it's Austin, TX and it has a far different demographic and music scene than Detroit does, but KOKE-FM out of Austin is the type of station I've been dying for. Instead of playing Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Chase Rice, Florida-Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Racal Flatts, and Sam...

How long until the midday experiment flops and Exitcom reverses course and puts live and local hosts back in the midday and evening slots?

Re: September radio ratings
I'll be interested to see what 99.5 WY . . . errrrrr 99-5 'YCD's ratings look like during the next book after Exitcom gutted the once great country station.I hope they are a dumpster fire but I suspect people will still be tuning in. I wished Cumeless would have flipped 93.1 to either an alternative...

Re: Canned national programming coming to WYCD
What a trainwreck the former CBS radio portfolio has become in Detroit between WOMC, WYCD, and WWJ. WOMC and WYCD were two of the strongest stations for years and had great, live and local talent and airstaffs that have now been stripped down to the bone. That was always one of CBS Radio's biggest s...

Re: 97.1
Matt Dery seems like another obvious choice given his connection to Stoney.
