Restaurant hires fake Priest to get workers to confess to "sins"

I don't even know how to react to this one: A restaurant chain in California enlisted a fake priest to take confession from workers, with the supposed father urging them to "get the sins out" by telling him if they'd been late for work or had stolen from their employer, according to the U.S. Departm...

Re: Promises Unkept …

I'm not complaining about my position in life. I'm much happier being independent than I ever was working for somebody else. You're the one who brought up stereotypes in regards to poor people getting handouts, and then proceeded to give your own stereotypes about small business owners (in response ...

Maybe somebody can explain to me exactly what he said here:

Re: Promises Unkept …

My issue is that small business owners (to which I work for one) always want to cruise around in the Range Rover, go on yacht vacations, live the high life, be interviewed in Forbes while the pleebs bust ass for their paycheck. But the minute something doesn't smell right, it's the GODDAMN governme...

Re: From FOX News Tonight.

Perhaps none of these are quite as egregious as the FNC example, but cable news networks have a history of painting an opinion-based characterization of a sitting President as fact through their on-screen graphics. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/68dafa2df73689639da3f12d03f7b248a9074764e739d084...

Re: Promises Unkept …

No, I'm the kind of guy who runs his own business and does his own taxes (literally filling out tax forms the old-fashioned way) and gets annoyed at how many man hours I have to spend book-keeping, only to cut a check to the feds every year that will basically vanish into a black hole.

Re: Promises Unkept …

We can debate the merits/justifications of wealth redistribution, but the bottom line is, if you pay more in taxes than the benefits/services you receive from the government, then your wealth is being redistributed. If you pay less in taxes than the benefits/services you receive from the government,...

The irony is pretty thick here.

Re: From FOX News Tonight.

I'm simply pointing out that this is nothing new. The only thing new about it is somebody getting fired. A host can call President Trump a "doddering dictator wannabe" on-air and not only keep her job, but the network deletes the video as if it never happened and nobody (other than Newsweek) bats an...

Re: Promises Unkept …

Yet you all vote for people who use the power of the government to redistribute wealth, taking it from those who earned it and giving it to those who don't.

Re: From FOX News Tonight.

I agree that it was a ridiculous graphic to put on-screen. But fired? This isn't the first time a sitting President has been referred to as a "wannabe dictator" on a cable news network. MSNBC has since deleted the video, but there is a Newsweek article referencing this. Nov. 2018 Headline: "Donald T...

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I think there might be some kind of a pattern to the responses here. He misspoke The only people kvetching about this are Republicans. Their candidate is arguably in worse shape. Donald Trump Trump’s psychosis Trump. Trump is sure he's the smartest guy in the r...

Re: Biden has plans to build a railroad across the entire Indian Ocean

I ask only because you seem to be suggesting that Biden, being somewhere above the threshold of a vegetable, is mentally able to be President. The problem I have with Biden in regards to his mental abilities is that every single time he wanders off-script, we get gaffes like this one. His cognition ...

Re: Biden has plans to build a railroad across the entire Indian Ocean

So in your opinion, how big is the gap between "vegetable" and "mentally able to perform the duties of President" ?
