Re: Getting Jabbed

Got my first dose Saturday 3/20. Second shot set for Saturday 4/3. Got the Phizer vaccine. No side effects from the first shot other than a sore arm for a day and a metallic taste that subsided after a few hours. Hoping the second shot goes as well. I scheduled mine through Sparrow. Logged into my p...

Always have a realtor involved.
According to the story they had a realtor. Either the realtor didn't do their due diligence, or the buyers went around them to do the deal.

Re: Free Beer and Hot Wings now Mornings at WMMQ?

That's a great point; the changes at MMQ definitely create an opportunity for 92.9 to gain listenership. That's a surprising move for Midwest, but a step in the right direction. I always thought a live morning show on Duke would kill. That's an audience that would respond really well to a live and ...

Re: Ken Jennings as Jeopardy! Host

I think Jennings will have the permanent gig in the end. The guest-host thing is mainly a move to demonstrate that there was no heir-apparent to the Trebek throne, possibly out of respect to Alex and his legacy. Selecting a permanent successor before he passed would have seemed morbid given that he ...

Re: Couple buys home, and a year later the seller still refuses to move out

This situation sounded fishy from the get-go. Anyone who demands an immediate cash payment in full (on a Sunday no less, when the banks are closed) is suspect. A good realtor would suggest adding an escrow clause to the sale contract. The buyer pays the purchase price to the escrow account. The fund...

I sent the original poster a PM with that inquiry. No response.

Re: A nice takedown of that insufferable douche, Elon Musk!

One of these rolling shitbox cars in Michigan when on auto pilot crashed into a parked police cruiser. I hope the police agency's insurer sends the repair bill to the company. Problem with these self-driving vehicles is that they rely on GPS, which is not always reliable. Losing the satellite signa...

Re: Any Robins Yet?

A dove couple built a nest in our eaves last spring. Mom & Dad hatched three batches of babies, two in each batch. The nest was right outside our front door, and they seemed totally undisturbed by the humans milling about. When the babies flew the nest, they would hang around our front porch and yar...

They’ll have off buttons and manual overrides indefinitely. My main point is you have less mechanical control over your car now than you had 20 or 30 years ago. Many maneuvers we associate with manual control are actually commands sent to an on-board computer that responds accordingly. Again, not t...

Re: A nice takedown of that insufferable douche, Elon Musk!

In the old days we drove cars. Today we drive computers that drive cars. There are many advantages to computer-driven technology, such as anti-lock brake systems, traction control, rear-view cameras, etc. While these advancements all serve useful purposes that can reduce the consequences of driver e...

Re: Daylight Savings Time, Keep it or get rid of it...

I say DST year-round. Most kids start school around 8am, so they're already walking to school in the dark during the winter. A 9am sunrise wouldn't make a whole lot of difference in that regard. I would much prefer keeping a later sunset in the summer months.

I remember talking to a few folks I knew at the Lansing cluster when Townsquare purchased it from Cumulus in 2013. They were quite enthusiastic about the deal, as the Townsquare upper management touted the importance of live and local content. Don't know if it's just the direction of the radio marke...

Re: Network television ratings IN THE TOILET

5th Grader was a great show, and Foxworthy was the perfect host for that format. It was one of the prime-time game shows I really enjoyed. ABC's reboot of Match Game was a disappointment. Mostly just lewd material. It lacked the creative subtlety of the 70's version (Dick DeBartolo was a writing ge...
