Re: "Solar Max Might Arrive Early"
If solar max will be poor , the next few cycles...I will have to spend my nights on the lower HF bands and sleep all day ! 160, 80 and 60M are not very different when Sol is lazy. Bless you if you plan to be with us for "the next few cycles!" I don't have anything up for 10. I know a group of...

Re: Audio person during Hall of Shame segments
Is it really that difficult to pot up Rob Wolchek's mic while muting the anchors' mics? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cOGRJmtRig Every dang time the anchors toss to Rob, his voice is picked up by the anchors' mics, and then the audio person is late to Rob's mic. Every. Single. Time. With news st...

Re: Banned songs
i believe that "they're coming to take me away" was banned in the late 60's Which reminds me- I didn't see this posted elsewhere on the board: Jerry Samuels, singer and songwriter better known as Napoleon XIV, who had a novelty hit with “They’re Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!” died March 10, 2023...

Re: SXM Yearly Plans?
I just had to go through the renewal dance with SXM. My 1-year pricing term expired on Feb 22 but I didn't get a notification, and for some reason I hadn't flagged it in my Calendar app. I saw a shockingly big SXM billing for this month on my credit card account, and realized that they had, as they ...

Re: WCAR, Dark ?
They were playing a very odd music form last week, sounded like long form orchestral and choral, in a cave.

At least NBC/Today ought to have gotten John PRINE right (not "John Prince").

Re: And then there's this....
WDIV managed to stomp on the first segment of Monday's (Feb 6) Jeopardy, running the John Salley MI Lottery wheel spin show in its place. The Hub's got to fill that hole in the rundown now.

Re: WWV / WWVH
I don't think there was EVER a time I could not find CHU or WWV on one or more of the frequencies they use. At night WWV is great on 2.5. 5 and 10 MHz, Chu is great any time of day or night on 3330 and 7850., in the daylight hours WWV is strong on 10, 15, and in high solar years on 20 and 25 mHz CH...

Re: Chevy
The song is “Anyhow” by the Tedeschi Trucks Band, sung by lead singer Susan Tedeschi. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NwgEELSShrU&list=RDMMNwgEELSShrU&index=1 Aha, thanks. Tedeschi Trucks was going to be my wild guess. I like Susan T. and their work but don't really follow them. Good song, but I stil...

Chevy
The latest flight of spots for Detroit Metro Chevy dealers features a female vocal track with a Bonnie Raitt-sound. I can't quite discern the lyrics but seems to start off as "Just walk a way with me..." Not a bad sounding song but a singer/songwriter style ballad seems kind of odd for selling Silve...

Re: And then there's this....
Timely discussion, because the folks on WDIV last night were poking fun at some station down in Texas for misspelling on air! I forget the exact word, but it was something like "tunnel". The graphic on the screen was written as "Tunel" and the anchor spelled it out..."T-u-n-e-l". Sounds like more t...
