Re: RIP 1470
WWJ 950 is doing a lot more Traffic and Temperature reports and other stories from the Flint Area. Their 5 mV/m City Grade predicted contour reaches Southern Genesee County. The predicted WFDF 5 mV/m covers all of Flint. The TOH ID could also reflect the call letters-Farmington Hills-Detroit-Flint....

Re: Feds to ban funny state-owned road signs
MAGAts are too dumb to realize they're driving in the ditch... Trump voters are stupid? Great! Then I guess you would be all in favor of requiring voters to pass a rudimentary civics exam prior to casting their ballot? Absolutely... his vote total would easily decrease. Joe Biden would never pass.....

Over 1,100 pages in this piece of useless legislation. Just goes to show you what a bunch of humorless, unsmiling, negative nancies we have in charge.

Re: Feds to ban funny state-owned road signs
Dammit. I always wanted that job. Who the hell gets paid to sit around and think these up? Don't be an ass, drive slow not fast If you get road head, you could wind up dead Don't beat your meat in the driver's seat Don't be a clown, turn your radio down I mean, imagine making a living off this stuf...

Re: Feds to ban funny state-owned road signs
I think reading something stupid like, "Mask up, and stay safe!" on I-95 in Virginia when the road is closed ahead, stranding unsuspecting motorists for 27 hours, is much more egregious. It might as well have read "Ease up on the throttle, when you're sippin' on that bottle" Why? Because it offends...

Re: Christie dropping out
Haley isn’t better than Trump. In 2016, John Kasich was a decent candidate to try to block Trump while offering different ideas. When it comes down to it, Haley, DeSantis, and Trump really are all the same platform wise. All 3 would work to wipe out the existence of LGBT people. Christie was the on...

Re: Christie dropping out
I wanted Kaisch in 2016. I figured if I'm gonna get a moderate republican, I may as well vote for the actual republican. I wish things had gone different. It's amazing what short memories we have. There's not a dime's worth of difference between Kasich and DeSantis. Both come off as angry, unlikeab...

From what I recall, I-75 and I-94 is even worse.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 7:15 pmMy suspicion is there was a loss of power to the pumps, which (if true) begs the question - why aren't they on generator backup?
That's what I like about Orlando, all the roads are either fairly new, or recently upgraded.

Re: Weather reporting
I-75 flooded at I-696 despite construction of a very expensive new drainage and pumping station over the past couple years. If melting wet heavy snow plus a half inch of rainfall can cause such issues (heavy rainfall moved through the area last night around 10PM), I fear to think what will happen d...

Re: RIP 1470
Last week, when I checked the frequency, it sounded like some kind of urban format fading in and out. Sounded secular but I could be wrong. Was that within an hour or two before sunset? You may have been hearing WVOL Berry Hill, TN (Nashville) before they switched to night pattern. Hey, Ben Zonia, ...

Re: Michigan Radio drops "Radio" from its name
We can blame new GM Wendy Turner for the vapid rebrand. I see they've turned off comments on Facebook for the post where the rebrand was officially announced. I suspect many negative comments were received. I'll get used to the new name over time, but the change was unnecessary. Michigan Public sou...
