Re: 7 Action News at 4pm... Buh bye to The Now

If this is a start date indicator, WEWS has just dropped "The Now" name. In their case, they're now "News 5 at 4 PM".

Re: Network programming preemptions by individual stations

The verdict is in. WDIV is airing the Jeopardy! All-Star Game finale that first aired last night. The return to normal scheduled for tonight is airing at 3:30 AM.

Alex Trebek has stage 4 pancreatic cancer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=33&v=7cInGyxCY9k This is very bad news. Usually, there's no coming back from stage 4. And if the "no coming back" does apply in this stage-Jeopardy! may possibly be going off the air and if that happens, probably so will Wheel of Fortune. They've been 7 PM...

Re: Network programming preemptions by individual stations

Tomorrow the final of Jeopardy's Team Tournament Of Champions will be bumped for Mayor Mike Duggan's State Of The City Address. However it will be shown the next evening, (bumping Wednesday return to regular Jeopardy.) It seems a prudent thing to do. Zap2It is saying that WDIV is airing the regular...

Re: Network programming preemptions by individual stations

I just re-remembered this: for a time in the summer of 1987, WDIV did air Super Password - but they aired it at 9:30 AM, which meant that they would air day-old episodes. I assume this was done because the syndicated show at 9:30 AM (I forgot what it was) was cancelled and they needed something to f...

Re: TV Guide

I picked up the Sunday Free Press today and I was surprised as how the one I picked up still had the separate TV Book (or "TV Weekly Lite", whatever). It was indeed light, only a small number of pages and the small size, but I did like how they still list all the Toledo OTA stations (minus WTOL), th...

Re: Should Detroit be home to an ABC and NBC O&O too?

A station that’s network O&O has to air the entire network’s lineup. No preemptions. 100% false. Look no further to WLS-TV Chicago regularly preempting ABC programming for Cubs baseball. There are countless other examples of network owned & operated TV stations airing alternate programming. Even WX...

Lodging/hospital cable lineups

A recreation of this thread that was lost to the 2018 crash , but I'm expanding this to include hospital lineups as well. Basically, just like the old thread, this is a catch-all thread for lodging (including hotels and motels) and hospital cable lineups. This is the lineup for the Henry Ford Hospit...

Re: TV Guide

Even the Downriver News-Herald discontinued their separate TV listing section, merging that into their lifestyle section. On top of that, it's often inaccurate.

Re: Owners Of WJBK-TV And The Other Ex-Storer Stations That Was Called SCI Television

By 1948, Storer expanded into television by launching WSPD-TV 13 (now WTVG) in Toledo, WJBK-TV 2 in Detroit a few months later, and in early 1949, launched WAGA-TV 5 in Atlanta. By the time the mid-1950s rolled around, it was renamed Storer Broadcasting. In 1966, he'd even start up legendary supers...

An update, I was just able to receive WGTE.

Side note: Maybe I should've posted this in the Engineering & DX'ing board.

Decreased reception of Toledo TV north of Toledo

There had been a similar thread in 2016 , but I didn't feel like bumping that. Since December of last year, I have not been able to receive any of the Toledo TV stations. I last received WTVG then, WNWO when they turned off their RF 49 transmitter and WTOL was around November/December too. WUPW was...

Re: CBSDetroit62

People have suggested that CBS re-brand WWJ as "CBS 15" (for its cable positions in Detroit and Windsor, which would be much more tolerable than 62)... though I think they really failed themselves by not getting onto a standardized cable position like 3 or 4 across the viewing area.... but even 44 ...
