"Medical Grade Brace" Telephone Scam

I'm pestered daily by these calls, usually a recorded message telling me I'm eligible for a medical grade brace to alleviate my knee or back pain that's fully paid for by my insurance. I realize this is a scam phishing for my personal insurance information, but what I want to know is if I "press 2 t...

Re: Radio And the year you Graduated.

Like a couple people here I graduated high school in '73. It taxes my memory thinking that far back, but I recall my radio listening gravitating to WABX, WRIF, CJOM, and WDET. That latter entry introduced me to modern jazz, the avant-garde, and reinvigorated my love of classical.

:eek Goodness, he's lost a bit of weight since last I saw him! I doubt I'd recognize him on the street. Glad to see he's still in business. Thanks, Kager.

Re: Just how bad are the Lions?

It is especially disheartening when the average Lions fan could manage games better than those getting paid the big bucks. BTW - you don't ever see these issues with the New England Patriots. They end up being the team I root for after Detroit is finished, and they know how to perfectly manage game...

Where Is Bill Vogel These Days?

Is he still running his Vogelsound studio in Northern Michigan? I swear I've heard his voice on national spots, but, y'know, how can one ever be certain it's him?

Re: Just how bad are the Lions?

I agree with bmw the 2 point attempt was a bad idea. I can sort of get it in the Maryland Ohio State game although even there I would played for another overtime. But in the NFL when you are supposedly the better team I think you play for the overtime. There's apparently some unwritten coaching rul...

Re: Just how bad are the Lions?

Wow, what is it about opposing kickers this year? And GOOD kickers. That's 5 clanks off the goal posts in 2 weeks, and a missed extra point that essentially cost Carolina the game. Let's not forget the inexplicable kicking meltdown of Green Bay's Mason Crosby earlier this season -- something out of...

And Kroger meat (steaks in particular) are heads and shoulder above either Meijer or Wal-Mart quality wise. A lot of the time I can find choice that is border line prime at Kroger.
You've noticed that, too, eh? I pounce on their ribeye specials!

Re: 2018 Election Results Thread

Big shocker for me, term-limited State Representative Democrat Henry Yanez losing to Republican and political neophyte Michael MacDonald in Michigan's 10th State Senate District (Macomb County). The Macomb Daily is positing that a great divide was between north (MacDonald) and south (Yanez). Congrat...

Re: Golden Tate traded to Philly

After yesterday's debacle in Minnesota, it should be clear that this team is far from ready for prime-time. Would Tate's presence have increased our chances to cash in inside the red zone? Perhaps, but still.... It was interesting that RB Theo Riddick seemingly took the majority of snaps at Tate's s...

Re: Lions - Vikings

Longtime Buzzboard readers know that I've always viewed Jim Bob Cooter with a high degree of skepticism, thought many in the mainstream media around here overvalued him, and thought it was a mistake when the Lions didn't cut bait with him last off season. With today's ABYSMAL performance against th...

Re: The Opera Thread

Most any appreciation of opera begins with a healthy suspension of disbelief. I'm by no means a fan or aficionado, but my favorite operas are probably R. Strauss' Die Frau ohne Schatten (The Woman Without a Shadow) and Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande -- the former for the story and the latter for the...
