Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

I don't need seven minutes of weather in a 30 minute newscast unless there are active SVR warnings in effect. They need to put more hard news on the air, in my opinion.

Re: Flint Nielsen numbers for radio

105.5 and 95.1 would both have significantly better ratings if Cumulus would simply dump the national morning shows that are imported from Atlanta.

Re: Congrats to Stacks 92.1

Lazer sounds like an intriguing station for the era it was on the air.

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

I only watched the first five or six minutes of the 6PM show yesterday. I did like the cross talk between Amyre and her male co-anchor at the start of the newscast. I'll give him a grade of B- so far. He's a little too stiff for my liking. I prefer Terrence's delivery of the news. I'm not a fan of t...

I'll give credit where credit is due. I'm liking the 5PM show so far.

Great anchors, and much better in studio camera angles than I saw last week. The annoying steel beams are no longer shown in the anchor shots.

Ahmad's forecast area still needs better lighting and contrast.

Re: NFL Playoffs

A stupid penalty no doubt, but there was still 8 seconds left on the clock. Absent that penalty, KC would have had time for a quick sideline pass and probably could have gotten up to somewhere between the 30 and 33 yard line for a FG attempt with 1 or 2 seconds left. They would've had time for one ...

Re: City of Grand Haven evicts WGHN-FM from tower due to lease violations

Thanks for the info.

When WGHN-FM was off the air, Stacks could be heard pretty well in the car into Cascade Twp. That's a good 7 or 8 miles beyond its normal range.

Re: NFL Playoffs

What a stupid, stupid penalty by the Bungles in the final 15 seconds of their game. That game likely would've been headed to OT if not for that moronic late hit on Mahomes.

Re: Another victim of Clownsquare budget cuts...

Don't be surprised if 98.7 flips, resulting in the company's nighttime "Ultimate Classic Rock" program being cleared locally. Under such a scenario, WGRD's Tommy Carroll would presumably add PD duties (or whatever the hell Townsquare calls the job) for 98.7. Townsquare programs classic rock in Flint...

Re: Whitmer announces Tax Cut

Correct; it is not a double tax. Moreover, employer pension contributions are deductible expenses for corporate income tax purposes.

Pensioners only pay taxes on pension income once withdrawals are taken (just like a traditional 401K or 403B plan, to echo what Round Six wrote).

Re: Whitmer announces Tax Cut

I like your plan (i). Thanks. There are states where such laws currently exist relative to property taxes. In the following states, seniors pay no property taxes on their homestead (a few on this list may surprise you): Alabama Alaska Florida Georgia Hawaii Mississippi New Hampshire New York South ...

Hubie Brown - please retire

His color commentary is painful to the ears. His age has finally caught up to him. He sounds like a man with a foot already in the grave. He is 89 years of age. He has had a great broadcasting career following coaching. Time to call it quits. Reminds me of when Pat Summerall stayed in the booth long...
