Re: WLAV Tower Relocation - new update 7/29

Reception of WLAV to the SW: Driving north on 196 started to notice them at M-140 about 3 miles due south of South Haven. Signal gained strength quickly and by the time I was driving past the Phoenix Street exit(bus196), it was fairly clear with sporadic static. To the NW strong signal to about the ...

Bosco: you didn’t stutter the first time. I can read clearly. I posted that to MW two days prior to you posting. I just copied and pasted. So, go ahead and repeat it again if you would like😉

Re: WLAV Tower Relocation - new update 7/29

I sent this info to MW in a message a couple of days ago. Sounds like LAV might be full power? But LAW is definitely relocated. WLAW is definitely broadcasting from the Montague water tower, or are broadcasting at reduced power. I just made a trip to Holland and back, and their signal is greatly red...

Re: LAV STA/application status

Definitely transmitting from Allendale. When they were transmitting from 107.3 sight they were fading out at the 97/31 interchange and were not coming in well in Holland. They are now consistently listenable to Shelby and to the Ganges area. When on 107.3 tower they were also coming in quite well no...

Met him several times. Worked around him during newscasts as I was doing my internship at WZZM with Bill Steffen and George Lessens in the summer of ‘98. Great personality and human being.

Re: Most distant AM/FM/TV signal you ever tuned in?

From just west of Mt.Pleasant, MI picked up 94.9 out of Miami, Fl. While in Minneapolis picked up a station on 103.3 from the Carolinas. And in my trip from Odessa to SanAntonio TX, picked up several stations from northern WI. Called WDEZ and chatted with jock who ended up putting it on air.

Re: Sunny 92.5 / 97.5 Nash Icon

I know that there was a lot of theories before 94.5 and 107.3 did their switch, I believe one of those theories was an LPFM going up in Muskegon at 99.1 FM to broadcast “The ticket”. Could it be possible that there are scrapping the 99.1 FM and the Nash icon and putting “The Ticket” on 97.5 in the n...

Re: Nash has reverted to Thunder branding and has added 107.3!

I know that 94.5 does top of the hour as WKLQ now and has for three days. I have not been able to listen at the top of the hour on 107.3 FM. However,I flipped to 107.3 and heard just before they went to George strait “the heartland” and I quote “Thunder country is back in West Michigan at 94.5 and 1...

Re: Nash has reverted to Thunder branding and has added 107.3!

I think it makes sense to move country to 107.3 if their intention is to go after B-93, which I think is what they are doing with the “Nobody plays more country” position. They are definitely gaining a tremendous amount of real estate with the move of frequency. If you cut off everything west of the...

Re: Holy Winter Tropo Blasters!

I, too had very similar results as the author from Fremont. I am in extreme western Muskegon county on Duck Lake and picked up 98.5 WNWN and WUPS, 102.5 WIOG was crystal clear over the local smile, WTCM was coming in clear over the local. 93.1 out of Chicago over Grand Haven.100.9, 103.3 and 106.5 o...

Re: Radio And the year you Graduated.

Graduated in 1989, spent my teen years loving 94.5 WKLQ and the morning zoo. The battle between Bubba the Love Sponge and Danny Douglas was a little over the top and at times unprofessional, but as a teen I loved the competitive music between WKLQ, WGRD and WSNX(sunny FM). Also, being in extreme NW ...

Hey guys! Sorry for getting so defensive last night. I have been a casual viewer of this website for quite a long time and enjoy the good reads. Yes it is pretty frustrating when people who do not have the knowledge share their thoughts. It is actually very constructive to actually reach out to a me...
