Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

There is NO excuse for not having severe weather coverage, warnings, cut-ins, crawls, maps, etc. Total embarrassment for a channel that claims they are around the clock. That is quite sad, considering how Ahmad handled weather at 25. I remember his first kid was born, and he was at the station thre...

Re: I guess local TV stations no longer broadcast weather warnings?

Not a single station in the market has a warning icon on the screen for Monroe County's severe thunderstorm warning. Hilarious given all the idiotic promos 2, 4 and 7 run touting their weather coverage. These people all suck at doing their job. This problem would never happen in a million years in ...

If I were the suits at NBC and FOX, I'd be calling up the folks at WNEM and WJRT at this rate.
And it is a possibility that might already be going on.

As much as it’s terrible at 25, at least Erik has some weight off his shoulders.
How does he have weight off his shoulders? Maybe I'm missing something, was another meteorologist hired?

Re: More layoffs going down at Sinclair Stations including Flint

From Adweek: >UPDATE: We heard from a reader that along with layoffs and an elimination of positions scheduled for April 1, Sinclair’s NBC affiliate WEYI and Fox affiliate WSMH in Flint, Michigan was told that the local morning and weekend evening newscasts on both stations and the weekday 5 p.m. o...

Re: Sinclair’s Cheapness on Full Display

The weather forecasts might end up something like WFQX was in the early-2000s. The weather was pre-taped from AccuWeather, which made severe storm bulletins extremely late. I can vividly remember a severe storm warning come on 7&4, and my dad was watching Fox in the other room. It was about 15 minut...

Re: Local News

Maybe 7&4 don't have the resources to put on a noon newscast. 7&4 had a noon newscast back in the early 90s, but dropped (probably) due to ratings and/or budget. I often dream of a Michigan where there are no duopolies. No more 9&10, 7&4, or 29&8.... I'm not sure how viable it would be to split the...

With Leslie out, and Ron Hilliard's last day being yesterday, WEYI/WSMH is down to Erik Kostrzewa. No new hires to be found. More cheapness for you.
Who are they bringing in to fill spots until a second meteorologist is hired?

Re: Coming to 106 KHQ

They can't keep a morning show. Between 9&10 with the rotating door there and talent leaving right and left in TC radio, there is not much in regards to consistency anymore, HUH??? Omlette for 16 some years Ron Prichard on Z93 for almost that long Charley D on WCCW since the Depression Tim Nixon on...

Good luck to him. I think he will do well as he grows into the position.

I kind of like this type of article. Just yesterday I saw a large sheet of ice/snow slide off a van and strike the windshield behind them. It's not the worst thing for the news to occasionally remind people of common sense behaviors and safety precautions.
Various stations do it periodically.

...and then there were 4 (anchors)... https://i.ibb.co/dKVwZV7/910-MTT021923.png Gotta be an all-time low anchor number for Brewvine & 10. Heck, they've been 4 deep on the wx team in the not-distant past. Considering Scafidi pretty much sticks to her morning gig (when she's there), gotta be some lo...

Re: WWJ again

It's not that difficult to pronounce "Shiawassee"... Not like Mark Watkins at 7&4 stammering through "Peshawbestown" his first week.
