Re: Ratings Day in Toledo
A new record for 105.5! Congrats to them on their 1.1 share! It takes incredible skill to lose by a half share to a country station from Tiffin! By the way, the crappy Dallas station on which Q105 is modeled is allegedly flipping to a simulcast of 820 WBAP on January 3. https://radioinsight.com/rat...

It would be funny to have both the Spurs and the Pistons still working on very long losing streaks when they play in January

Re: WLDR
92.3 and 99.3 serve no purpose given their suboptimal location. 101.9 on the other hand ought to be a valuable stick. The fact that once great station is now an after thought is so disappointing. With Benzie County out of the market, I think 92.3 and 99.3 would no longer count against the market ca...

Re: WGRD is the new top dog in latest Arbs
Dropping stuff like "the New BIG..." and "The Fun Hits..." begs the notion of having someone to do that kind of Work! I haven't been in corporate radio for nearly a decade but would say there ain't no one on site to take up the tasks of brand management. I hear Michelle McCormick doing evening voic...

Re: FM reception in the southeast part of the US
When I spent a month in Babson Park, FL this past March, I was able to consistently pick up Tampa, Sarasota, Fort Myers, and Orlando, and would occasionally pick up stations from as far away as Key West, the Redneck Riviera, far southern Georgia, and Dothan, AL

Re: The story of Battle Creek television history
WUHQ owes FCC rules for its existence and ABC affiliation. If the WZZM-TV tower wasn't required to be so far from WSPD-TV/WTVG, there wouldn't have been that large area still not covered by ABC. As it is, WZZM-TV is almost like part of the Northwest Michigan/almost Traverse City market, with WPBN a...

Some more today while driving from Manistee to Grand Rapids via Traverse City: - 92.5 WFDX is on and running full power with yacht rock-type songs - A solid number of UP, Wisconsin, and Sunrise Side stations were heard in TC -- UP: 92.3 WJPD, 92.7 WRPP, 93.1 WIMK, 93.9 WNBY, 94.9 WUPZ, 97.9 WIHC, 98...

Re: #TuckLeavin
MSU has both Nebraska and Minnesota on its schedule; those are winnable games. Indiana is very winnable; it took OT for them to beat the friggin' Akron Zips. MSU is a better team than Indiana all day long. Iowa might be a lot crappier than everyone was thinking, too. They just lost 31 - 0 to Penn S...

Brief observations
While driving from Grand Rapids to my parents' house today, I noticed a few things: - Several of the big Northern Michigan signals were listenable along parts of I-96 and US-31, such as 88.5 WIAB, 89.3 WTLI, 96.3 WLXT, 105.1 WGFM, 105.9 WKHQ, and 106.7 WSRT, as well as a handful of Flint/Tri-Cities ...

Re: Nielsen #s for GR radio - some significant movements!
If I were in charge of Townsquare GR:
1. Keep WGRD as is
2. Flip 95.7 to country, keeping Big Joe in mornings. I would play at least 2-3 pre-2010 songs per hour
3. WFGR remains as is
4. 100.5 the River adds a Hot AC lean
5. Magic 104.9 shifts to a near-clone of the Block in Kalamazoo/Battle Creek
