Re: 2020 predictions

Some more predictions, mostly from the crazy world of Northern Michigan radio. Some of these might be categorized as "things that should happen, but won't" 96.3 WKLA and 98.7 WLDN swap places, with WKLA moving to the much stronger 98.7 and WLDN moving to the underperforming 96.3 (97.7 WMLQ and 98.7 ...

3. Michael Bolton- He tries way too hard to belt out songs. His voice isn't bad when he's not belting, but as soon as he belts, he sounds like he's in extreme pain.
Before Michael Bolton became known for belting, he actually released a couple of hard rock albums

Re: Antenna TV gone?

WMYD-TV 20 Detroit and it's subchannels are only available on Buckeye Broadband on the Michigan side of the border, namely Bedford township. Yep, Bedford Township is practically the furthest Buckeye can offer the Detroit channels these days (and I'm about a half mile from the state line). WTVS can ...

During analog days WLNS was considered to be in the Flint market.
In part due to WKNX/WEYI having little to no signal in Flint in the 50s-70s

Re: FCC repack

With a small outdoor omni antenna Just north of Lansing I can get 4 UHF (17 when at full power, 41, 43, 64), but not 3, 8, or 13. (Using virtual channels for clarity) 13 would be difficult even if it were on UHF as its stick is in southwestern Newaygo County. The Flint/Saginaw UHFs would be much ea...

Also, Virginia Beach, although being on the Atlantic, doesn't generally see major hurricane damage

Any rumors as to whom - if anyone - may be interested in purchasing 106.7 WSRT and 105.5 WSRJ?
Haven't heard anything on either, or about 92.5 WFDX

They're on RF 14, which might be the best channel for digital TV

Here is the running list of iFart/iHeartless fatalities. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/183270/ongoing-list-of-those-affected-by-iheartmedia-cuts/ How many friends or former co-workers can you spot? Seems like a sizable number of those that were let go had many years in. It makes me wonder if t...

Re: Most FM Class Changes For A Single Facility

Because FAA regulations don't allow towers close to 1500+ feet tall anywhere near here, no really high buildings in Zone II around here, and there are no really high mountains to build up HAAT (though a few are above 1500 feet, like WWTV, but the tower rent for an FM probably wouldn't be feasible),...

Re: Most FM Class Changes For A Single Facility

WFCX (soon to be WCM_) went from Class A to Class C3 to Class C2. However, I'm not sure if they ever operated as a Class A. WPOZ in Orlando, FL has gone from Class C2 to Class C1 to Class C (100kW @ 450+ m). They had a CP to become Class C0 at one point, but cancelled it in favor of moving up to a f...

Re: 97.7fm in Bowling Green

Weird that they would have two LPFM's so close together on the same frequency, as Springfield High School's oldies station is also on 97.7 in Holland, Ohio in Lucas County, and has one of the best 100W LPFM signals that I've ever heard. In Grand Rapids, there are two LPFMs on 92.3 within 10-15 mile...

Kind of odd that Star 105.7 is a Muskegon subscriber, but not WSNX or WOOD (both of which are licensed to Muskegon!!)

Re: To anyone who liked the Blake Griffin trade...

Blake's been shooting great from the field lately! What was he - 2 of 14 the other night? And I think he was 2-17 or 2-18 the game before that? His knee is shot. He's toast. The guy's a gamer; I respect him for that. However, he needs to do the right thing for the team and for this city's fans and ...
