Re: Fan Boy Custer
Oh, but my boy Matthew, that’s simply not the case… You see I have many people from all three stations reaching out to me to let me know about the goings on at 5, 12, and 25-66. And I know in your world view, that it’s easier for you, Soundchaser, Herm, BTS, Kager, MasterB, and other management apo...

Re: Being cheap at Christmas
Funny story… The first WEYI Christmas party, I had to go on my lunch break. As soon as I get there, I go straight over to JB. As we’re exchanging holiday well wishes, I mention that I’m on my lunch break so I should probably grab some food. Without missing a beat, JB says… “Well shit, you should pro...

Re: Fan Boy Custer
That’s the difference between journalists and members of the tech crew. We have ethical standards of conduct that we are supposed to live up to. (Apparently WNEM doesn’t have these standards or Jayne allows David to violate them…). We are taught in journalism classes about avoiding even the appeara...

Re: Fan Boy Custer
I’m pretty sure most of the posters here who don’t have a problem with Custer posting selfies with President Biden, probably would have a big problem if he did that with former President Trump. The fact is the selfie should be off limits. If Custer was a truly independent reporter, he would have ta...

Re: Fan Boy Custer
He did do his job. There was nothing on the air that was anything other than neutral. Again, you are SOFT. It’s a picture on Facebook. It didn’t say “greatest president ever”. Riding with the motorcade is a big career moment. Just like any photog would likely post about it or any field producer wou...

Re: Being cheap at Christmas
In 2008, the employees at WEYI didn’t get anything for Christmas. No party, no gift card, nothing. Now THAT’S as cheap as a company can get.

Re: Sports journalism recruiting
Soundchaser, you Sinklair wannabe. Stick to what you know… which is apparently very little. Hodak was absolutely behind Greg and Ryan’s departures. Her petty vendettas cost two of the very best sports journalists their jobs. Finally Gray had enough of her BS and showed her the door. How she was abl...

Re: Trouble at ABC/Disney
Like… I understand their hesitation to continue having these two anchor a show together since so much of their success hinges on public perception, but they really did nothing “wrong”. The immorality of the entire situation ends outside of their marriages. They’re consenting adults that fell in love...

Re: When your anchor says your writing sucks
How exactly is it apparent?
Stations write stories about news outside their market constantly.

Although, was this a story from 25 or some other newsroom?

Re: When your anchor says your writing sucks
I saw this tweet. It’s never cool to do this. If he has issues with the writing, he should talk about it with the writers. It’s really unprofessional to go on Twitter and air these types of grievances. He should know better.

I’d second this.Chrocket87 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 6:02 pmAnyone else think that 8ball/LL101 is one of the two cameramen who shot this video?
The narrative of the encounter couldn’t be more bias in favor of the upstanding gentlemen who were so honorably standing up for their first amendment rights. What fine citizens they are.

Re: Tables turned on TV5, employees freak
I can agree to disagree, but the evidence points to the TV5 folks shaking in their combat boots. They hid out in a news car rather than entering the building. They called the cops. The balding four-eyes wanted the guys thrown off the sidewalk and both the cops and the gentlemen knew that wasn’t goi...

Re: Tables turned on TV5, employees freak
These guys (the ones giggling like school girls) are complete dolts. They need a new hobby. What they’re doing may be legal… but they’re approach to making a point is third grade-ish. I don’t think anyone is challenging their rights to videotape in public. But they also shouldn’t be peering through...
