Re: Cable systems that do not carry all network affiliates from their home DMA

Obvious thread bump as this got brought up in another thread. Comcast Xfinity in Sandusky is missing several stations from in-market Detroit (most notably WWJ), but it does have the Big Three from Flint/Saginaw. This system's lineup, overall, is straight out of 1990 -- it has only 40 channels and i...

Re: Comcast Removing Detroit and Lansing Channels

Took them 23 years to finally realize that the Cable Reform Act of 1996 exists. That was why WNWO was dropped from TCI's Downriver systems, which were based out of Woodhaven. I'm not 100% sure whether the act you're mentioning applies to PBS members and other noncommercial stations It does. Non-com...

Re: Ignorant UAW story

Nobody out of High School can live on $250 a week. Everybody that says what they make says it by the week or annually. Everybody pays their mortgage payment montly. Its easy math. The UAW member is probably comparing his on the job weekly wage versus his on strike wage. An average mortgage payment ...

Allotments in or near Houghton, Mt. Re: Most Dangerous Roundabouts In Michigan

If MDOT was allowed to build I-275 from its northern terminus up to I-75 around Pontiac back in the 70's, that roundabout would be an interchange. 20 years later M-5 was built as an answer to solve some of the heavy traffic on that area's roads. IMHO MDOT missed its mark by not buying the property ...

Re: End of The Road for WBAI 99.5fm NYC pt 2

Yup. Pacifica even took out the EAS equipment, leaving the WBAI staff no way to (legally) run the station themselves. It’s amazing how dysfunctional the relationship between Pacifica and WBAI has been for YEARS and they’re both somehow alive. It’s as if the same business ineptitude that has placed ...

Re: Comcast Removing Detroit and Lansing Channels

Here's a clipping of when Battle Creek cable attempted to drop WKAR to make room for PASS and WTBS (when cable systems had limits of 35 or fewer channels): https://www.newspapers.com/clip/32256249/battle_creek_enquirer/ Unsure of what happened next, but one of the following happened: 1. WKAR was nev...

Re: "Yacht Pop" is DEAD

High burnout due to small playlists. That's why they only have it on Sirius XM in the Summer. Just like only three years of Gilligan's Island is why it only irregularly plays on Classic TV Channels. There's only so many Toto and Steely Dan tracks. It does run year round online and on some car radio...

Re: Michigan football - predictions

Based on performance and history, Rutgers belongs nowhere near the Big Ten. It’s because they can go after the New York City market that they are in the conference, ignoring the fact the people there do not care about college football. The area of New Jersey around Rutgers seems to have good HS foo...

I’m a realist. Beating Rutgers- which is only in the Big Ten because of the New York City market- means nothing. It should be expected for a program of Michigan’s stature. It does not change my opinion that Harbaugh needs to go.
This beatdown led to Rutgers firing their coach

Unfortunately, search doesn't work well with acronyms or short words. Sorry about that. Ha, it's okay. I should have seen the topic to start with (as detailed as I usually am!) Nice to have some information to start with though. It's always a complication with those STAs, applications, CPs, etc. an...

It’s Rutgers. Michigan should be killing them. It means zilch.
Rutgers: The school so bad at all sports that New Jersey doesn't want to claim them!
