Re: Saying "Illegal Alien" in the classroom may get you suspended

From the Newsweek article: " ... Newsweek reached out to members of Central Davidson High School's staff via email on Tuesday for comment. One staff member replied by saying they cannot discuss a specific student or their actions due to federal student privacy protections ..." Funny how the school d...

Re: Saying "Illegal Alien" in the classroom may get you suspended

The best way to nip this sort of thing in the bud is to call out the offended family in public. A press release naming the kids parents, in the form of a "sincere apology" will make others so easily offended think twice about throwing a temper tantrum.

A really big (as in tall and well built) older British guy.
He's British, eh?
I'm certainly no linguistics expert. Just sounded more Crocodile Dundee than Prince Charles to me.

Yeah so what? Donald is holding his hand out. Who's at fault if his palm does get greased? They know he's got more angles than a protractor. Good for him if he gets the jack

Re: Michigan Charters ranked as third worst in U.S.

Does the Charter's survey take into account the quality level of the students, that are enrolling? If they take students that were failing in regular schools, they might be doing a great service! On the other hand, take all of cream of the crop out public schools send them to Charter's then results...

Radio and TV are becoming less of the delivery option. You aren't going to replace those words with Streaming. The brand should focus on content.
Very true. No longer need to plan around viewing or listening "live" to content that interest you.

Re: Drew & Mike Podcast Complaint Thread

I just listened to Sunday's show. They spent over an hour watching Elisa Jordana's video and subseqeuently calling and speaking with her. Although I didn't think it was possible, I honestly think I'm dumber for having listened to it. I'm sorry but I sincerely have to ask what I pondered for a bit. ...

Re: Shut Up And Sing, Hoosier, And Stop The Anti Trump Rants

I don’t go to concerts as much as I used to, but I prefer if they just stick to playing music. I don’t care much for long-winded stories ... As much as I'll get flamed for this, I was a little disappointed the last time I seen B.B.King. It was about a year before he passed so maybe all the reminisc...

Re: Detroit Public TV moving, current home sold

If this was mentioned already I apologize. Detroit Public TV is changing it's name to Detroit PBS. And has purchased an empty block in Detroit's Milwaukee Junction area.

This is from the Detroit News.

Re: DHHS announces gun control

I guess that people who live in gated communities in the middle of nowhere don't need guns as much. The only way to avoid violent attacks and other crimes is apparently to isolate yourself. If you were going to be murdered and went for your gun, and it was locked up, how would that delay keep YOU f...

I think most of those antennas in Southfield and Oak Park missed out on that ridge.

Thanks for the map. I remember when I had that all explained to me wondering how could the Huron River flow uphill?

They moved to an area with a population boom at the time- a stone’s throw from Lyon Township (Napier is the boundary). It’s the same as when 2 and 7 moved to Southfield in the 50s. I was always under the impression that 2 &7 (and the MSP Northville post) are where they are at because of a ridge of ...

For someone who is tired of Trump and wants him to just go away, you sure do make enough posts about him.
Sounds like most media outlets. They can't stand him. But they're his best press agent.

It would add transparency and accountability if they were elected by the parents of enrollees.
