Re: Why So Much 80’s?
It was like this : 1983 - WHND (AM) was the only Oldies station in Detroit. WCZY or WABX could have went Oldies but one went Top 40 and the other became Class FM (WCLS). 1984 - WKSG 102.7 became the first FM Oldies station in quite awhile. 1986 - Both 93.9 CKLW-FM and WKSG were FM Oldies stations. 1...

Re: Most distant AM/FM/TV signal you ever tuned in?
On AM it was 1150 CKOC from Hamilton, ON received in Fort McMurray, AB On FM I heard 99.1 KDZR / Z Rock from Denton, Texas in 1993 (E-Skip). I received that one near Brantford, ON. The Toronto 99.1 FM signal was not active back then. On VHF TV I've seen E-Skip from Wyoming and Texas in the 1990's. O...

Re: Bell wants to shut down more CTV transmitters
If Bell wants to keep the Sarnia transmitter on the air they will be forced to move it down to a lower channel. I think they will go from ch.42 to ch.27.

Over here in Ontario they said to expect 110 km/h wind gusts which is a little over 60 mph.

In the early 1990's WLLZ reduced their antenna height from 480 feet to 462 feet. 98.9 WOWE also signed on the air in 1990.

Re: CIAO 530 Now CHLO 530
CJFT Fort Erie was on AM 530 from 1986 until 1991. CIAO Brampton moved from 790 to 530 right after CJFT switched to the FM band.

Re: Hudson Tower (Building Under Construction) & Initial FM Collocation Analysis
WMXD, WDRQ, and WYCD could share a directional antenna that protects Cleveland and covers Metro Detroit quite well. I could see WJLB, WDZH, WNIC, and WGPR wanting the additional height too. If WMUZ moves further East there is a risk of more interference to a couple of Canadian radio stations.

Re: WMXD interference
I think parts of SW Ontario get the worst of that Detroit vs. Cleveland interference. The stations are as follows: 92.3 WMXD vs. WKRK-FM 93.1 WDRQ vs. WZAK 95.5 WKQI vs. WFHM-FM 99.5 WYCD vs. WGAR-FM Another longtime problem for 92.3 FM that you have 92.5 WVKS Toledo right next to it which is 50,000...

Re: CJBK and CKSL London, Ontario
CJBK was Top 40 from 1972 up until 1987. CKSL was a very good Top 40 station although it didn't have the kind of signal that CFPL 980 or FM 96 had. It was very narrow and interfered with at night. In 1993 CKSL along with CFTR Toronto and CKKW Kitchener dropped the CHR format.

News/Talk and AAA are about the only two options they have right now if they plan to flip at all.
