Re: WADL is removing Cozi Jan 1
WDIV was actually promoting COZI 4.4 as new addition to their over-the-air lineup during this morning's "Live in the 'D'." WADL's PSIP is still not updated to show as QVC in Cozi's old slot. No telling what the cable services will do. Comcast/Xfinity didn't carry any of WADL's subs, but maybe they'l...

WCCO Drops CBS Newscasts
From NorthPine.com : Longtime CBS Radio affiliate WCCO/830 (Minneapolis) has dropped hourly CBS newscasts but continues to be an affiliate of the network. The News/Talk station, which has Minnesota’s largest commercial radio newsroom, had already exited the hourly national newscast at :03 past to be...

Re: Massive WOMC interference in Brighton
The Saturday tropo maps at Hepburn's Tropospheric Ducting Forecast site showed a "fair" amount of ducting over the Great Lakes area. Warm air, cold ground, interesting signal paths.

Re: WADL is removing Cozi Jan 1
I was watching WADL 38.4, and a locally inserted (emphasis on locally) screen crawl stated the following, or at least something similar "COZI TV WILL NO LONGER BE BROADCAST ON THIS CHANNEL STARTING JAN 1, 2020. FOR MORE INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT COZI TV DIRECTLY." Shitty move, WADL. Shitty fuckin...

Re: WJZZ
Every year at the Detroit Jazz Festival there are large numbers of people wearing WJZZ logo tee shirts. "New" issues of the shirts have been available for some time, plus there are those of us who still have our originals. The logo was designed by Robert Dempster, who still does design and promotion...

Re: Let AMs on HD-2s ID as AM CALL-HD-2
This FCC HD-2 ID requirement is just plain silly. Let WJR (WDVD-HD-2) and WWJ (WXYT-HD-2), etc. ID as WJR-HD-2 and WWJ-HD-2, etc. There's no conflict at all. The other callsign just causes confusion for the listeners. The legal ID goes with the transmitter. 97.1 is licensed as WXYT-FM and it has an...

Re: The anchor shuffle at WWJ
I enjoy WWJ radio. Listen to it for traffic and weather info when driving.. But there is a weekend midnight anchor lady that needs to quit speaking with a " sing song " type of on air delivery. Very grating on the nerves. That would be Stephanie Davis, who has always spoken that way, so not likely ...

Re: Anybody Have Any Experience With Fixing d'Arsonval Signal/Battery Strength Meters/Circuits?
I used to sometimes encounter erratic meter performance due to static charges on the meter face, that were difficult to discharge. Behaved Like a large flat glass or plastic capacitor. Sometimes touching a grounded clip lead end to the face would drop the needle back to zero. I recall seeing a few m...

Re: HD 2 and 3 stations
So what is the point of the HD simulcast if they play the same thing on both channels? You know, since it's Digital, it's better (or potentially so). :P Possible also that in some situations the HD version might be less susceptible to background noise than the analog channel. " F. M. - No Static at...
