Re: Local 4 expands to 1 PM
WDIV's midday newscast, effective today, has been cut back to 12:30, since the political ads are off the air. 12:30-1 is again infomercials, but today the 12:30-1 slot was taken over by continued NBC coverage.

Re: WTOL NFL game choices
This is happening again today. Instead of the Colts-Lions game, which WWJ is showing, WTOL got the Steelers-Ravens game instead. WUPW is showing Raiders-Browns. These rules are absurdly ridiculous.

Local 4 expands to 1 PM
I'm not sure when this started, but Local 4's noon newscast has been extended to run until 1 PM. From what I saw of it, the second half-hour didn't have any rehashed stories. It was being referred to on-air as "a special edition", but could this become permanent?

Re: 30 Rock Special preempted
Did any of the NBC affiliates in Michigan air it? I was wondering why WILX was showing Full Court Press at 8:00 on a Thursday. Ironically, despite being what started this thread, WEYI ended up airing it at it's normal time. Here's what the other NBC affiliates in Michigan, including out-of-state-ba...

WNWO is also preempting the special. In it's place will be additional reruns of Family Feud. WNWO won't be delaying it either.

Re: 30 Rock Special preempted
WDIV and WNWO will not be airing the special either.
WDIV is airing the local special Something Good in it's place, while WNWO will be preempting the reunion/upfront with additional reruns of Family Feud.

Re: CBSDetroit62
Unlike today, where a corporation can share call letters among different stations it owns in different parts of the county. KCBS-TV in Los Angeles was initially KNXT because the KCBS call sign was already used by it's FM station in San Francisco. When the FCC relaxed the call letter requirement CBS...

Voyeur alert! At the bottom of a Detroit News story about storm damage, it reads: Send us your photos or videos of storms and damage in your area (only if it is safe to do so) at online@detroitnews.com. The story already had many such pictures, but I guess that wasn't enough... ...and so they went ...

Toledo's most surprising event!
I just read that WNWO will eliminate their affiliation with NBC after 25 years and become an independent station for the first time in 50 years. As a result, it will now air 22 1/2 hours of test patterns, with the rest of the day filled out with their preexisting out-of-state newscasts. Where will N...

WXYZ is already running a test pattern on RF25, and WDIV is also running their test pattern on RF32.

Re: WDIV in Ireland
It was carried in the strangest of places, so it wouldn't surprise me. According to the 1994 TV Factbook (posted on americanradiohistory.com), WDIV may have been carried in the following communities outside of Michigan (these communities are all in counties where WDIV had a 5% or higher net weekly ...

WDIV in Ireland
It was brought up on a Discord server today that at one point WDIV was carried in, of all places, Ireland. However, very little is currently known about this. There aren't even any mentions on if it was carried on NTL or Cablevision, which were two of the major cable companies in Ireland back around...
