Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

Wait a second, that's the full news set? Where's the backdrop of downtown Detroit or the spot for graphics? Where's the CBS/CBS Detroit logo on the set? How are you going to fit all four of the anchors, weather, and sports at that desk? That set looks like it was designed for a HS AV class. What kin...

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

Will CBS Detroit News have any investigative news team or journalists? It would be nice to have a Steve Wilson, Bill Spencer, Scott Lewis type reporting and investigative journalism coming from a local news station once again. CBS has always seemed to focus on hard news, in-depth reporting, and inve...

Re: Scott Vertical is new morning host at 107One in Ann Arbor

This does seem like a missed opportunity by Exitcom/Audacy to have put him on Alt 98.7. Good for him though ending up on 107.1, he'll do well there.

Re: Martin Bandyke

Scott Vertical seems like the perfect replacement for Bandyke. It's really too bad a station in Detroit, I'm looking at you Alt 98.7, doesn't pickup a talent like Scott Vertical. All the best to Martin Bandyke though. To spend 40 years in the radio business and so long at only a handful of stations,...

His name has been removed from the WCSX website as well. I hope he is doing ok and that he isn't suffering any major health issues. All the best to Dave.

If he has been let go from the station and is doing ok health wise, Steve Kostan is out there and would be an excellent choice for the drive home.

CBS Detroit/62 CBS should have hired Christy McDonald and instead they let her go to Local 4. That's a great hire for WDIV and a missed opportunity for CBS and their news team.

Re: I've been enjoying Alt 98.7

Does Kelly Walker, of WRIF and 105.1 The Edge fame, still do radio in a market somewhere or is she still around the Detroit area? She'd be a great local host for an Alternative station like Alt 98.7.

So no Charlie LeDuff, Christy McDonald, Frank Turner, Kevin Deitz, Scott Lewis, Stephen Clark or any local names of stations past?

Re: People in Washtenaw County love WUOM

Would it be a stupid move on Cumulus' part at this point to bring the W4 branding to 93.1 instead of the generic New Country branding they currently use. Whether it is a simulcast on both stations or the new W4 on 93.1 broadcasts on its own. One station gets the WWWW-FM callsign and another could ge...

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

Off topic: I think many liberals are triggered, because sleepy Joe Biden is proven to be a disaster and Donald Trump was right. That, along with the Row vs Wade verdict, is why they are losing their minds. Oh well!! Trump was right about what? That you can find 76 million people dumb enough to give...

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?

You didnt really post this, did you? He meant a similar set design, not that exact set. Thats the new set at KYW, likely the new template for the O and O's. Of course I know the Philadelphia skyline won't be on our news set's backdrop. I was merely joking because he had said that would be the set.

Re: June 2022 radio ratings

Did Cumulus buy 97.1 and flip the Ticket to WJR today or is there some kind of error going on? I was listening to the Ticket at 10:59 today and it was broadcasting WJR all of a sudden.

I don't think Detroiters are going to like having the Philadelphia skyline in their newsset's backdrop.

Are we going to see any familiar, local faces pop up on 62 CBS that have been laid off or left broadcasting over the past few years? Ben Bailey, Christy McDonald, Kevin Deitz, Scott Lewis type of hires?

Re: What would you do if you owned one or more of the area radio and TV broadcasts

If I owned 62 CBS WWJ TV I would scrap their intended news programing before it even started and hit the resent button. From there, I'd turn their news operation into a combination of something you'd see on Vice News/Vice News Tonight/PBS News Hour/Frontline. It would emphasize investigative journal...
