Maybe it will again be possible to copy WBZ on 1030 before local sunset.

WDEO 990 night testing?
Late Saturday night/early Sunday, 1AM-ish , for a short time I heard on 990 what must have been WDEO, loud and clear, covering up CBW. A long interview with someone telling the story of his love for the Church and his priestly vocation. Never heard any break or an I.D. Couldn't really stand to liste...

WKBD and WPXD are atop the candelabra on the 11 Mile Road tower; must be something between those antennas and yours affecting both those signals.

Re: Mispronunciation by Jonathan Carlson this morning
We should have always pronounced Monroe like Marilyn Monroe. Cadieux is difficult to pronounce correctly. Cadyoo is acceptable to me. Where is the G in that name? :lol Why do we say Lake Or-ee-un instead of Oh-rye-un like the rest of the world? Why do we say My-lan instead of Mih-lahn? Why do we sa...

Re: Fox 2’s OTA signal
Not to be pedantic, but WHNE and it's hundred useless subchannels are also on VHF 3. Takes my smart TV forever to change channels from WJBK to WDIV because it only scrolls up and down slowly; I can't type a channel number. Nuisance. That's really not a very "smart" TV, then! You should at least hav...

Re: Most hated Christmas songs
Andy Williams. It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. It was OK until they started using it for back to school advertising. For me, going back to school was the absolute worst time of the year. You apparently missed the humor there. It's the Parents celebrating Back to School time. The kids in t...

Re: WWJ STL troubles
Speaking of station audio sounding like sh*t, I've had the unpleasant experience of hearing "J" in between my ears with some AKG headphones on a good receiver. OMG :barf . The anchor's console mike audio was glitchy and fringe-y/fuzzy (kind of like early ISDN), while some other sources, spots, liner...

Re: FM Transmitter Range
I’m just curious as to how much radiation this 1000 watt transmitter radiates, is there a reason for concern to the exposure. It is coming from China, so does this unit comply with U.S. tech standards? Just wondering. Who knows. It states certification for low power device (part 15) BUT it's for a ...

Re: Anyone Have a Chevy Equinox?
I've got a test drive scheduled for tomorrow, 2019 Equinox LT FWD, loaded with options and low miles. And the VIN number starts with "2"... Canada! Have a 2015 'Nox. Few problems, like it for the most part. There is an active user forum that you might find helpful in research: https://www.chevyequi...

Re: Going 4 it: The inside story of the rise of WDIV
Then there's the story (probably made up) of some visitor from France seeing a billboard in Detroit with Mort Crim's name on it. They wondered who Crim was and why his death was being publicized on a billboard. At that time, there were WDIV billboards promoting news with Mort Crim and weatherman Ma...

Re: Dennis Neubacher
Kudos to Dennis, and best wishes in his retirement! I remember listening to him on my radio scanner both for Channel 4 and 950 in the 90s. His mic operated both on air and off with a hot mic on 50.4 mghz. Very funny off air too. 50.4 MHz is in the amateur radio band. He would need to be a licensed ...

Products for your Nether Regions-
On some basic cable or OTA diginet I recently saw a stool softener ad, followed in the same break by a butt crack deodorant.
They could have done a trifecta and added Prep H or Lume to that mix, and throw in a roll of Charmin for a clean finish to a "theme" set.

Re: New digital converter
The RF sensitivity of the set-top converters (and receivers) varied a lot depending on maker. The "Zinwell" ATSC box I got at Meijer back in '99 for the digital switchover is amazingly sensitive, can grab DTV signals with a short stub of wire in the F-connector. Other boxes and sets could barely dec...
