CTV News Windsor
Lately I've been watching a lot of CHWI 16, just out of sheer curiosity, and because of the fact that I can. And I must say, the picture quality on their newscasts is absolutely horrible. The station's digital channel is transmitted in 1080i, but the newscasts look like they're filmed on a standard ...

WWJ DT3
62.3 is now on the air, but just a test pattern with scrolling pixel text saying "WWJ-TV DT3 DET" and it doesn't really scroll, it's more like the letters change positions really awkwardly. And sometimes the letters change, here are some examples "WWWJ-TV DT3 DET" "WWS-TV DT3 DET" "WWJ-TV DJ3 DET" "...

Re: Looking to gain CIII-29, CICO-32, and CHWI-16. Antenna recommendations?
I can get CHWI-16 reliably indoors with a Clearstream 2Max in Melvindale. But only if the side of the antenna is touching the wall closest to the transmitter in Leamington. When I use an amp, I can just hang it with a Command hook in a more practical location. Can't comment on CIII-29, I live closer...

Re: WHNE 14.12
All 12 subs on WHNE are a waste they should call it WASTE TV 14, sort of reminds me of the Weird Al movie from the 80’s called UHF is Weird Al running WHNE? They do have GetTV, I don't think that's a waste 90% of programming on Heartland (14.12) appears to be reruns of obscure shows from The Nashvi...

Re: Aurora Borealis Possible In Michigan This Weekend
Aurora borealis? At this time of day? At this time of year? In this part of the country? Localized entirely within your kitchen?

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?
Here's why I chose Canton: 1 - Schools. Part of the city is served by Westland-Wayne Community Schools (lousy). The other part of the city is served by Plymouth-Canton Community Schools (five gazillion students at the high school). 2 - Adjacent communities. Canton has Van Buren Twp on one side and ...

Re: WHNE 14.12
I've been able to make Heartland look better on my Insignia TV by adjusting the picture settings. What I did was increase brightness, contrast, and color all to 65% of the maximum setting; while decreasing sharpness to 30% of the maximum setting to make the artifacts less visible. You also want to t...

Re: WHNE 14.12
I don't even know what the bitrates are now, on any of the channels, but 14.12 definitely has to be under 0.4 Mbps. And I know HSN 2, JTV, SBN, and The Bob are definitely eating up more bits than they need. They should have half the channels (preferably 14.3, .4, .5, .8, .10, and .11) run at 0.8 Mbp...

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?
Well, with Hamtramck, there's no where to go but up. Besides, I've heard it's actually improving, maybe not appearance-wise.

Re: Which Metro Detroit cities are declining and which are improving?
What are you basing these judgements on? I'm going to add Hazel Park to the improving list and Roseville to the declining list. I actually think Taylor is improving. It seems like a good time to look at the Judgemental Map of Metro Detroit and see how the area has evolved in 5 years. From what the ...
