Re: Peggy 99.1 Winnipeg to flip to Country

CHR is in such a rut that it's drawing from Country - probably more than at any time since the early '80s (even the Faith Hill/Shania Twain crossover era in the late '09s/early '00s wasn't this big). Look at the crossover success of Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs this year. A year ago at this time, i...

Re: PARTY 103.3 Over/Under

Andrew on a country station is weird to me. When I think of Andrew Z, I don't think of country music. Andrew Zs audience is not the same that are country fans. The Wolf's audience in the morning will probably either go to K100 or 103.7. Going from his show to a NashIcon-style format will be an absol...

Re: 96.7 W244EN Flint/Lapeer. Junkalator

I listened a little bit to God and Country when I visited Shipshewana in September. It was an interesting format, and I liked it a little better than the regular CCM stations. Contemporary Christian music is a bit repetitive for me, but the KLOVE jocks all have very fun and pleasant demeanors on the...

Stream 419 app

There's a new app that launched a few weeks ago called Stream 419. It's a partnership with all the different internet radio station owners. There's Classic Hits 419, with a large variety of hits from the '60s, '70s, and '80s, Towpath Radio, which is mostly true oldies, River Rat Country, which plays...

There were 2 versions of The Carpenters "Merry Christmas Darling" the original in 1970 & the remix in 1978.
I believe it was actually a new recording, not a remix.
Which version do most radio stations play?

Re: Most Cringy Christmas Music

I think Karen is also the queen of Christmas. Her angelic voice fits the music perfectly. Mariah is overrated as a Christmas artist.

Paul McCartney has admitted to disliking "Wonderful Christmastime" and only did it because his label wanted him to do it.

Re: Sale of Windsor's CKWW in the works

I always wonder if 580 does indeed flip to an ethnic format, could CKLW run an oldies format on a part-time basis like weekends? It seems like it's either brokered shows or reruns of their regular weekday shows quite a bit of the time.

Re: Toledo Station Listed for Sale

It would be interesting if the Juice gets sold as Welch has owned the station since it came on the air. His son Charlie Mack was a personality on there at one point. The Juice has been an Urban AC with some classic hip hop for a few years now. If URBAN/ Glass City Radio buys it, I wonder if a gospel...

Re: SXM Deep Tracks Moved to Ch. 308

I don't expect Radio Margaritaville to be demoted. Even with Buffett's passing, I expect his estate will keep it going, and SXM loves putting artist-focused channels on the regular receivers. I like the Bridge but the playlist is fairly stale. It hasn't had a big change in at least 10 years, and com...

Re: GUYS! GUYS! GUESS WHAT I HEARD!

So WRIF is playing a country crossover song? Interesting. Was the other Jelly Roll song WRIF played "Son of a Sinner"? That was his previous single before "Need a Favor" came out. For a man who served time in prison as a teenager, he's really turned his life around. They say he's one of the nicest g...

Re: Who will go all Christmas in Toledo

It looks like the River has been playing mainly the same songs for years but has added some older and some newer songs.

I wish 105.5 would go all Christmas but they won't.

Is the imaging voice that was on Star and then the Q 94.5 the same as the one on Ann Arbor's 107one?

Benetti is a great announcer. I too am surprised by this. While he's versatile, I don't believe he's called a single hockey game before.

Abbey Road is probably my favorite Beatles album. I crossed the famous street myself when I vacationed in London 4 years ago.
