Re: SHortwave pirate stations

The propagation is amazing tonight. Best I've seen in 25 years! 100 watt pirates coming in like locals on 6903USB and 6880USB.

Re: Online shortwave radios

I hunt mainly for pirates and weak offshore signals. WRTH wasn't a whole lot of help in those areas. I also find them quite useful for observing propagation as you can watch a range of frequencies at once. You can also record from them with one click and download it when you're done. One caveat.. so...

Re: Why do they change the songs?!!

I can vouch the Chicago edit was terrible, as were ALL the edited versions from CTA.

As for the Dramatics, the violin appears only on the LP version.

So nice of Cumulus to do something for him- NOT. Fund raiser was about $5K, so a start.
That doesn't shock me at all. I'm surprised they even *pay* their employees to be honest.

Re: Get Well Soon Grizzly 94.5XKR

I did weekend overnights on WXKE 104 in Ft Wayne around 85- 86. I had free range of anything in the library as long as it wasn't, as Doc West said, "too pop". It's the only shift I'd really want to do anymore. I've heard Grizzly many times over the years and he is a most enjoyable personality. I wis...

Re: National Radio Day, August 20. Who Knew?

I produced the program in my home studio and edited it in Audition. Then, I sent the finished file to an ftp server. The broadcast originated on a 300 watt station on the east coast. Another station will be airing it in Amsterdam as well. They have 1kW.

Re: New Radio

Well, in all humility, my wife and I are disabled. That *is* poverty. Sad, we paid in for decades and we make less together per month than I made in a week before the body broke down. We have lost all of our DHS benefits this year, including medicaid, along with just about everyone else I know in MI...

Re: New Radio

As far as a pocket AM/FM radio goes, I used to have a little silver Sharper Image with digital tuning. It was a really nice sounding radio with decent sensitivity. I have no idea what become of it and have never found another one to replace it.

Re: New Radio

I recently bought a DX400 off ebay for less than $25 shipped. It arrived in much better shape than I expected. I like to use it out on the deck or in the kitchen. It replaced my Sangean ATS-803 (same rig, only with line outputs on a DIN plug) which took a bad fall and is now in my "repair mountain" ...

Re: National Radio Day, August 20. Who Knew?

Actually, I didn't pay a penny. Some shortwave stations sell an hour for $50 or less. WBCQ was doing an hour for $25 I think, just recently.

And I just got a report from a listener in Japan this morning!

Why don't large sites have a "Top" button?

The little tab with an up arrow on the lower right to return to top of page. Ebay has it. They're one of about three sites I've seen with one. I don't understand why most pages do not have one. It could be done with HTML v1 code, as I've always put one on any pages I edited since 1996. FWIW, I still...

Re: Server response issues when posting

I was actually going to ask about that. I noticed it often took forever for a post to complete once "submit" was clicked. I do not experience that on other phpBB forums, so I'd say it's 100% at the host end. There have been maybe 3 times where I received a "gateway timeout" error when posting. Seems...
