In 96.3's case, it's a mostly voicetracked station in the wrong format.

They only track nights.
They're also sounding more like a hot ac again. The Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, Alanis type '90's songs seem to be back. Reaction to losings some P2's to The Breeze maybe?

Never realized their office was in Royal Oak. The only station I have vivid memories being in that city was WEXL.
