Re: Question for Turkey Top
Normal progression period is 6 - 12 months. On a higher skilled job it could be up to two years. By that time the new guy should be performing as well as the 30 year guy. If he isn't, the Company should have got rid of him during his probationary period.

Re: Question for Turkey Top
That’s exactly what it is. That would be different than having a pay scale that rewards longevity and seniority though and I assume your union is all in on it taking years to get from starting wage to top pay? No, we aren't all in for that. I recall one instance where we reluctantly accepted a five...

Re: Question for Turkey Top
What you're referring to sounds like a classic two-tier wage structure. Everyone hired after a certain date works at a lower pay scale and never has an opportunity to progress to the higher rate. That stuff is toxic and my Union refuses to even consider it. Employers don't even try it with us anymor...

Re: Proof that unions are stupid - Teamsters give $45,000 to Trump
Sorry for your luck, being in a union and working for Obama. No need to be sorry for my luck. It wasn't luck that brought me to the Union. I signed up. Without my nice Union pension, I couldn't afford to live the life I live. I wasn't working for Obama. I was working for my Union. Foreigners are no...

Re: Proof that unions are stupid - Teamsters give $45,000 to Trump
My Union is an International Union. We have "boots on the ground" in both of our countries.
Before I retired I was called to the US to work on Obama's campaign.

It isn't Unions, plural. It's the Teamsters. No legitimate Union would give Trump a nickel.

Whomever made the decision to ditch Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility without first ensuring the successor software was reliable needs to be fired, if that has not already happened. The Google OS on 2024 models has proven to be a disaster of epic proportions. https://www.freep.com/story/...

I have a set of Sylvania I bought about 20years ago. I use them for only one thing, We have satellite TV and occasioally I have to make a slight adjustment in the position of the dish. As I'm doing it, my wife watches the on-screen signal strength monitor and reads it out to me. Then I put them away...
