Re: What's your charity, MW?
I'm not fussy when it comes to charities, Honeyman. You're a good egg, I must say. :) American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, St. Jude's, The Salvation Army or Michigan Humane are all good by me, as is any area food pantry (Forgotten Harvest or Gleaners). Pick one or more of those you like. Chee...

Re: Roberta Jasina Loses her job
CBS 62 should consider hiring Roberta in some capacity. I assume WWJ will move either Jackie Paige, Brooke Allen, or Erin Vermeulen to mornings, unless JoAnne Purtan is moved from WOMC to WWJ. For those who do not follow the radio industry, Audacy recently announced it would be eliminating about fiv...

Re: Roberta Jasina Loses her job
I predicted David Field and crew would do this the day the CBS Radio - Entercom marriage occurred.
Remember when Audacy (Entercom) fired staffers as stations were spinning Christmas music?
Detroit actually hasn't fallen victim to the budget ax quite as badly as some of their other markets.

Re: Roberta Jasina Loses her job
By far the worst part of this ordeal - her husband was diagnosed with cancer the day after Audacy downsized her. I feel terrible for Roberta and her family. I would not wish that one-two punch on anybody. I certainly do hope she received a generous severance package. The fact she wasn't allowed a fi...

Re: 105.5 WQQO Toledo
Cumulus wants button pushers leaving XKR to go to RQN and vice versa. To that end, some reasonable artist overlap makes sense. In Detroit, WRIF still plays some dinosaur rock artists spun by CSX. Recently, CSX has begun devoting spins to Pearl Jam, RHCP, Collective Soul and similar artists. Sticking...

That is my mistake, and I thank you for correcting my error. I must be confusing him with someone else.

Friggin' WWJ 950
They've turned their IBOC HD radio noise machine back on.
Not quite as crappy sounding as the last time it was in use, but still a noticeable downgrade in analog audio quality.
Hopefully, the reactivation proves to be temporary.

So, they poached someone from channel 7. I knew I recognized that name. The plot thickens.

I hear classic hits stations played inside businesses all the time.
Most people don't want to listen to slow, sleepy music at work.

Re: NOAA Weather Radio On again, Off again
Not sure if it's even technically feasible, but is it possible the TX shuts off automatically if there is no phone line audio after a certain length of time?
It does seem odd that most NWS offices attribute most weather radio service outages to phone line issues.

Relying on old fashioned phone lines is about as wise as relying on the Lions to win a playoff game.

Kelly Brown? No thanks. Cristina would be great, though.
Darren worked at 89X then went to Planet 96.3. I could've sworn I heard him on the air in Grand Rapids at some point, too, during the 90s. I want to say WGRD when it was CHR/Pop.

Re: FBI raiding treasonists home
Supposedly, they were unaware of the potential existence of such files until an "informant" tipped them off in late June.
