Re: WVFM got JACKED up!

Wow, this is a shocker. I agree with MWmetalhead's prediction for 96.5. I would prefer to hear a music format on 96.5, but rebroadcasting WKZO is a fiscally prudent move as radio attempts to survive and emerge from the COVID downturn. Detroit Tigers broadcasts on 96.5 should not be an issue this yea...

Re: Jerry Tarrants is back in West Michigan working for Townsquare, with a catch...

Tarrants and his morning cohost are no longer listed on the WRKR website: https://wrkr.com/shows/

Bobby Guy moved from afternoons to mornings. Eric Meier is now listed as the afternoon host.

Re: Shocker - Jerry Tarrants exits Beasley

Tarrants has resurfaced in Kalamazoo at Townsquare Media's WRKR. He is hosting the station's morning show "The JT & Stefani Show" in addition to serving as Program Director. Tarrants replaced Mike McKelly, who retired last month. McKelly also had Operations Manager duties for Townsquare Media's Kala...

Re: WMUK finally responds to sluggish ratings; major programming changes underway!

WMUK has very detailed write-up about the changes on their website: https://www.wmuk.org/2020 . They did not go into detail about the ownership status of the 89.9 frequency. From what I can find online, 89.9 is still owned by Kalamazoo Public Schools. For those of you not in the Kalamazoo area, the ...

Re: 930/102.7 in Battle Creek flips to Classic Hits

Hopefully Midwest does the format justice in Battle Creek unlike their piss poor attempt at Classic HIts in Lansing @ 92.9 FM. I wouldn't count on it. I have been tuning into AM 930 this weekend and it sounds like they are just piping in the Classic Hits format from Westwood One. The Westwood One f...

Re: So, I check out WZUU early this morning, and...

WZUU is much more tolerable now with the "Hometown Music Authority" branding than the old "Real Rock" branding when we got heavy doses of Winger and Ratt deep tracks. I agree - it still stinks, but it's not as terrible as a few years ago. Is Bob Brink ready to cash in yet?

Re: 94.5 The Q - new format is Adult Album Alternative

I should have clarified. The current station ID on 94.5 is "WTNR Holland and WBBL Greeneville/Grand Rapids." Why include WBBL in the ID if 94.5 and 107.3 are no longer simulcasting? I would give them a pass if it was a generic ID that they forgot to replace after the format change, but they actually...

Re: 94.5 The Q - new format is Adult Album Alternative

At 1pm The Q's new voiceover guy included "WBBL Greenville" in the station ID. I flipped over to 107.3 to make sure they didn't kill the country format.

Re: Fall 2018 Nielsen Audio #'s for Kalamazoo

I am curious about the sudden drop for WRKR. Is the Kalamazoo market too saturated with Classic Rock? WZUU and WRKR are virtually identical these days in terms of music direction. Jack FM's playlist is very heavy on Classic Rock tracks. Is that typical of the Jack format or is that unique to this ma...

Re: WBBL gone

It’s just after 5pm and the sports format is still in place on 107.3. However, I noticed that 107.3 is now broadcasting in stereo. The "stereo" indicator on my radio was not illuminated for 107.3 earlier this afternoon.
