Re: Who the heck is Marc Ryan on 97.1 The Ticket?
I couple of saturday's ago Caputo was ranting that the Tigers had no black players on the team, I don't know how he keeps his job.he must work cheap. Black youths playing baseball has been in decline for years. Putting any insinuation of bias aside, Caputo wasn't wrong about the racial makeup of th...

Re: WRCJ FM Dead Air this Morning
Got up late for work this morning because my radio alarm clock played silence at 6:00 AM - WRCJ 90.9 was not on the air. At 8:00 they were still off. Back on now; I wonder what happened. Have never considered that as a possible downside to a clock radio. They were back on at about 8:30 a.m. when I ...

Re: Detroit Tigers 2024
Looks like an up-and-down season. Just hope they can stay above .500 the whole season.
Maybe it's time to give Parker Meadows a breather in the minors. A player hitting .065 can't be kept on the major league team. Matt Vierling has shown how well he can play centerfield.

Re: 97.1/O.J. death discussion
The criminal verdict was announced in the morning. In the work cafeteria at lunch that day, I heard one black guy say to another, "We're gonna have an O.J. party." I've always had the feeling that a part of the black population felt he was guilty, glad he got away with it, but would never publicly a...

Re: Ron Cameron
There are more important questions about OJ like: What's your greatest thrill? Did you always want to be a football player? What do you think of the shift? Do you agree Wilt Chamberlain is the greatest basketball player? Was Bea Arthur a man? Yes, you know if Ron had landed a post-murders interview...

Re: Solar Eclipse April 8th
When I posted that reply I just noticed that it was under "active topics" and didn't check to see that it was not under one of the non-technical discussions. One theory about the eclipse we had recently, and the one seven years ago is that when combine to make an X through the United States. The pe...

Re: Dan Dickerson
I listened to Greg Gania fill in for Dan Dickerson today on the radio. I liked Greg's play-by-play, but during excitable moments, like home runs, he's a Dickerson clone. Loud shouting, with the annoying growl on the edge of the voice.

Re: Ron Cameron
I was trying to remember what Ron might have said about all the O.J. Simpson business in the mid-90's. All I can remember is that one day he started calling people on both sides of the case "scum". "O.J. Simpson is scum, Mark Fuhrman is scum, Johnnie Cochran is scum..." In that same general convers...

Re: Detroit Tigers 2024
Nice game against the Twins for different reasons. The Twins are the defending division champs. We're catching them at a good time, when they are one of the worst-hitting teams in the majors. Also nice to see a dominant performance. Making those a habit gives them more of a margin for error when the...

Re: Ron Cameron
Ron's adopted son Jake Rogers is off to a slow start, hitting only .130 after 7 games. Maybe it's time for a remake of Angels in the Outfield . The Celestial Ron promises to help Jake with his hitting, if Jake gets the Tigers to stop that stupid home run celebration with the impaled pizzas. Or maybe...

Re: OJ Simpson Kicks The Bucket, Age 76
I had a wonderful Friday Night Happy Hour in Beaver Creek with a bunch of co-workers in 1994 watching the slow chase. It was a great time. I was in the CP bleachers at Tiger stadium watching via the CF camerman's B&W monitor.... surreal I was at Tiger Stadium that night too. I remember the radio br...

Re: POS murderer dies at 76
There was a story in Rolling Stone in the 1970s about O.J. and some other people visiting a prison. Before they went in, someone told O.J., "Whatever you do, don't say 'What's happenin'?' "
So of course the first thing O.J. does when he sees a prisoner is say "What's happenin'?"

Re: "MAY-Cuhm" ?? (Channel 62 critique)
Alan Longstreet used to call Ann Arbor "Uh Narbor," but I think he's gotten over it.
