They now advertise in the Grand Rapids market as well albeit without any radio personality endorsement.
Yep. Doesn't make much sense to get an endorsement from air personalities who are VT'd from out of state. :rolleyes

Re: The revolving door at WWJ

With a little more work, I think Alexis would have been very good. There's not a lot of young people who are interested in the biz anymore. Where was she supposed to go to learn? West Branch? Lansing? I'd bet everyone is gone by 4:30. Tracy McCaskill is very good in a supporting role, co-anchoring, ...

The revolving door at WWJ

In addition to KT, Brooke Allen, and others, I noticed that young reporter Alexis Ware has been missing as well. Looks like she found a nice gig:

it's toward the middle of the story:

Re: Joe Biden had other email accounts under fake names

Has anyone noticed audio hasn't been back to defend his conspiracy theory?? He's probably busy changing the lock on his daughter's bedroom door... :rollin Wow. Boorish, and sophomoric. You must have hit your peak in high school with that rusty Z28 up there in Saginaw. There's a long line of morons ...

Re: Joe Gagnon The Appliance Doctor

My hunch says Joe goes the brokered route again like he did at the Ann Arbor stations. I don't see anyone hiring him, not because of his content or talent, but because that's how the radio market is these days. Was that a brokered slot at WJR? My best guess is no. If it was, he'd probably still be ...

Re: 1380 WGLM

I appreciate the reminder about Jeff Kortes. He's forging a nice career in criminal defense in Grand Rapids, so his website reads. At one time, he had offices in 77 Monroe Center, at some spot below the Clear Channel GR radio cluster. Used to see him broadcasting HS games 30 years ago and he was ha...

Fox News would jump to hire him.
I don't know about that.

Is Donna Brazile still with Fox? Charlie may accidentally insult her the same way :lol

Re: WRIF, St. Patrick's Day 1992

A few notes: WLLZ was no longer a rock format at all by 1996. The kids didn't wanna hear all new rock on their dad's radio station. They had 89x. Planet 96.3, which was a top 40/alternative station, went MOM-dern AC by 1997. It was alternative you could listen to with your mom. Sonny Colvin, Matchb...

Regarding WKRK - the corporate morons at CBS eventually ruined WHFS, WBCN, WYSP, WXRK and other stations. Rock station launches in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, San Antonio and Sacramento all went poorly.
That's an accurate assessment.

Re: WRIF, St. Patrick's Day 1992

I remember how it went in the 1990's. WLLZ was New Rock by June of 1995, and it lasted six months. 97-1 only played Rock for about two years and then went FM Talk until 2007. The old Z-Rock became The Bear and was Classic Rock by 1997. By March of 1999 what used to be WKRK no longer played music on...

I've noticed that WMXD locks in easily now. From the Book Cadillac it was very touchy on an analog tuner.

Not anymore.

I couldn't tell you the last time I heard Burning Sky. It's always Rock & Roll Fantasy, or Shooting Star. Thank God the later Bad Company material with Brian Howe singing lead has been permanently shelved. That stuff was really weak. Howe had a little more range than the guy from 3 Doors Down, but t...

Re: The new 910AM News Talk Superstation

WFDF is buried in noise today. I can hear CFCO and WKNR a lot clearer. Where are you located? Bloomfield. Telegraph and Quarton Interesting. I'm about 5 miles from that location and this morning it was clear as a bell all the way to Lansing. Wonder if you have electrical interference from overhead ...
