Re: Constant negativity

Constant Negativity... Oh, I don't know, probably because today's scaled down version of broadcasting hasn't really "evolved" in a good way. Sure, it's good from an efficiency standpoint, but falls short in a big way when it comes to what passes for talent, and quality.

Re: WOMC's Jim "JJ" Johnson Announces Retirement

I was just told by a reliable source that Jim Harper does whatever program he still does from a home studio. From what I've seen online, it's more like a desk in an unused spare bedroom. The internet connection hiccups on WJR make for a hard listen. Harper can't get on the Lodge, and drive to the F...

Re: WLLZ Applies To Move To Diplex With WDET

8009 Lyndon was an early WJBK-TV 2 site. I think I saw on the History Card that WJBK-FM 93.1, now WUFL, was there too before moving to 9 Mile. Could the WLLZ 98.7 STUDIO been in the Cass Corridor then? It gets confusing when the call letters were on more than one facility and multiple History Cards...

The Breeze was playing all those 60s motown classics.
Oh, please :lol

The Breeze barely scratched the surface, and all of the sissy Ed Sheeran tunes one was forced to sit through to hear the 3 dozen R&B tunes they played was not worth the pain.

Re: WJR - Guy Gordon gets a co-host

Guy Gordon's "let me play devil's advocate" approach to everything is beyond laughable. Warren Pierce had a similar tactical approach, without actually mentioning it on-air. To be fair, Warren was never "political" and treated everyone the same way.

Re: August book

I thought we were promised a change at 107.5 something like three years ago. Chop, chop. 107.5 should be 100% Classic Soul. They should hire Foody. A couple years ago, WMXD shit canned his Sunday night show, which was excellent, and replaced it with reruns of Keith Sweat. :x It's absolutely absurd ...

It can't be any worse than Guy Gordon solo. Actually Guy Gordon with Warren Pierce would be worse.
Point taken, but even Warren would be an improvement over Kevin Dietz and Tom Jordan. :lol In some ways, I feel sorry for Tom. Kevin won't let him get a word in. Talks over him constantly.

Re: WJR - Guy Gordon gets a co-host

I assume she has the prerequisite conservative qualifications? I have no idea. Paul W (who's on an hour earlier, from the car show in Frankenmuth) just had her on the phone. She said a lot, but said very little. Sounds like she's going to keep the Loco4 gig for now. Probably a good idea. :lol On a ...

WJR - Guy Gordon gets a co-host

Just announced by Paul W, Jamie Edmonds, of Loco4 fame, will be joining Guy Gordon and Lloyd Jackson in mornings. Funny thing, Paul incorrectly referred to her as Jamie "Edmondson" a well known Playboy playmate. :lol I rarely watch TV, so it'll be interesting to see what others think of this. Frankl...

Re: The new 910AM News Talk Superstation

Kevin hired some Southfield Police to hang out in the parking lot as the recently fired employees gathered their belongings and vacated the office today. I didn't know that unpaid volunteers could be fired, but okay... Even at my place of residence, squarely in the major lobe, WFDF is unable to ove...

Re: Another high-maint example.

Local news has been a joke for a long time. Fox 2 always struck me as being the station for the "ham & egger" or weekly bowling league types. I'm sure Alan Lee and Rich Luterman are nice guys, but the talent pool here in the 70's and 80's was a lot deeper. The 90's brought the legendary Warren Pierc...
