Anyone Observe WCXI Or WPON Testing Activity?

Has anyone heard anything different on 1160 or 1460? Something Nice To Say About WCXI 1160. I was listening to Jimmy James on WCXI today. I was surprised at how good the Oldies Format really is. They seem to no longer be playing the really obscure Doo Wop and Rockabilly. That's OK for a special show...

Re: Jessica Starr

I bet it was Dr. Yaldo I can't find anything on his website that suggests that he even performs the LASIK Smile technique. I was curious also. From the beginning of refractive surgery, I was skeptical. Radial Keratotomy was developed by the Russians. The Russians were using it for their pilots. Tal...

Re: What If WION did a DX Test and Nobody Came?

I hear that WOOD is a big pest now in Scandinavia, along with WXYT. WWJ and WFDF are not as prevalent due to their patterns going pretty much straight North, while the WXYT and WOOD maxima are to the NNE in the Great Circle Direction of Scandinavia. WJBK...WLQV is now an even bigger pest with 10 kW ...

Re: Timothy Alan Dick, Harry Rodger Webb Callsigns, Funny Physics

OK. If MW wants to move it to Chatterbox, that's fine. The first post discusses two famous amateur radio operators, Tim Allen and Cliff Richard. I thought we had a post about Tim Allen (Tim Alan Dick) before, being a radio amateur like you are. As I researched it, I guess it got further afield with ...

Next week, we'll discuss the device first used to investigate the Higgs Boson, first postulated by Peter Higgs. The jokes just go downhill from here, and tend to write themselves. Remember to use spell check if you post questions about this device.

Timothy Alan Dick, Harry Rodger Webb Callsigns, Funny Physics

I had to look up the callsign KK6OTD that I found last Night after "Last Man Standing". I thought I had the wrong one when the name Dick, Tim came up. As was brought up in another forum, people who have names which are in whole or part crude terms for important anatomical features, usually do change...

Re: CK 105.5

Isn't it funny how you associate certain people with certain stations? And certain songs with certain stations? https://www.linkedin.com/in/arthur-morrison-bb140212 Anyway, the above link would suggest they are one and the same. I do remember a WAAM listener in Ann Arbor who thought Kevin Sanderson ...

The former DJ's Sean McNeil, Arthur Morris & Stu Schader when WWCK did the "Nu Rock" during 1983 & 1984!!
Was that Arthur Morris or Art Morrison? I know that Art Morrison worked all over Michigan, especially I remember him being at WJML.

Re: CK 105.5

Bill Prady lived near Bloomfield Hills and went to Cranbrook. I swear, I think he got the name for the character Peter Cavanaugh on Dharma and Greg from listening to Peter on WWCK-FM. I remember that WWCK-FM came in quite well in Waterford back when I worked near Highland Rd. (M-59) and Crescent Lak...

(Quietly) Seven A.

What number is this, Chip?

(Exasperated and Loudly) Seven A.
I definitely have my 45 of that song close to the top of my collection.
That's always been my favorite Monkees song.
I've got my 45 on so I can rock on.

Re: Monkees Peter Tork dies

The Monkees were Mainstream/Pop. A few tracks were a little edgy. I preferred the Music to the TV Show, which was a little too goofy and campy. The TV show was clearly intended for young girls to ogle them and ooh and ahh over Davy Jones. The goofy antics were intended for the young boys. Every youn...

Re: CK 105.5

Ed, do you remember the awesome signal WWCK-FM had with just 2.35 kW from 101 meters HAAT, and later 3 kW when the Class A Rules changed slightly with Docket 80-90 and Docket 84-231? I was the one who told PCC he could be 3 kW again first. If you remember, they used to have a 4 Bay with 3 kW at 300 ...

I remember seeing the WATT Motel when I was younger. How long has it been gone? When I was about 8 years old, I remember that I had written down some call letters of Flint Area radio stations on an erasable blackboard that was also a desktop. A girl from my neighborhood added "WATT". She said she ha...

Re: January 2019 Radio PPM Ratings

Some things never change. The Top 3 AMs in the ratings this period are the same as the Top 3 AMs in 1922. Ninety-seven years ago. That's just the way it is. Some things will never change.
