Funny to see an Amyre Makupson (her daughter obviously) working at 62 CBS doing news again.

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?
Is there an official or rumored start date yet for the newscast? Also, do we know the name and branding yet? Is is CBS Detroit News as has been seen in some of the ads? Is it 62 CBS Hyper Local News like they were telling us it was going to be earlier?

Re: WLLZ
I think the obvious thing wrong with what Clear Channel did at the time was not calling it W4 Country, but I digress. I don't know what can be done to save WLLZ at this point. I'd like to think a live and local morning show with Drew Lane would help, but WCSX is so far ahead and has a 30 year built ...

Re: WLLZ
MW it was Rick Miller doing mornings on 106.7 The Fox. If you remember correctly, Cheap Channel let their audience "choose" the DJs, just like we got to "choose" the format of country and "choose" the name 106.7 The Fox.

Re: Congrats to New Country 93-1...
Unless he doesn't want to go back to radio why not bring in Chuck Edwards? Chuck would be the perfect choice for 93.1 and has 25 years here in the Detroit market. If not Chuck, why not the Breakfast With Bubba crew or just Bubba coming over from W4 in Ann Arbor?

What are the odds Ben Bailey ends up at 62 CBS Hyper Local News (a terrible name for the show btw)?

Re: WJR On- and Off-Air Changes
Why in the world is Sean on WJR instead of 97.1? I'd love to hear Baligian take over for Caputo on 97.1 on the night time show and get some weekend and fill hosting duties.

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?
If he wants the role, Chris Edwards should be the Chief Meteorologist at the station. He's got the experience here locally in Detroit and is good enough to serve in the lead role IMO. I'd also like to see Stephen Clark and Scott Lewis on the station in some capacity if they are interested in coming ...

Re: Could Alt 98.7 move to WWJ Simulcast?
I think rebranding it News Radio 98-7 WWJ or News Radio 98 WWJ would be fine. Either one of those have a nice ring and flow to it when said aloud.

Re: Steve Garagiola is retiring after Sunday's newscasts
I know it won't happen, but I'd love if Steve went to 97.1 and picked up a weekend shift just to bring a new voice to the station.

What are the odds that one or all three of Stephen Clark, Frank Turner or Guy Gordon end up anchoring one of the newscasts?

Re: Pee-Yoo Country 93.1 signal issues
Country Aircheck reports Broadway Bill is returning to afternoons beginning Friday. No official word on 93.1's new morning show plans. Will they plug in the team from sister station WKHX Atlanta, which recently entered national syndication? A new local show? Wouldn't shock me if Stephen Clark, Chuc...

Re: October 2021 ratings
Should Audacy and Cumulus be racing to see who can flip to Rhythmic AC first between 98.7 and 93.1? Cumulus flipping 93.1 to Rhythmic AC makes more since given the history of the frequency on WDRQ.

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?
What are the odds we get real investigative journalism and more hard news reporting out of this from CBS ala CBS This Morning/CBS Mornings and 60 Minutes? I'm not saying the entire newscast needs to be Steve Wilson and Scott Lewis investigative reports, but a hard news approach with some real invest...

Re: August ratings
If 106.7 was going to stay as rock then I wish WLLZ would do something genuinely different. They can keep the same late 60's through 90's playlist but change it up by expanding their stable of artists and songs. At this point they aren't going to out WCSX 94.7 and beat them at their own game. Why no...
