Re: Blarney Stone Petitions FCC to cancel WLDR license

Circling back to the initial topic in this thread... Well, something got decided by the lawyers and those involved in August, as Blarney Stone/Mr. Coyne dropped this FCC matter via additional filing on 8/26: https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=...

Statmanmi, ... Keep up the good work. Hey MakitaMan! I could hear the sarcasm in your reply to me a couple of weeks ago, when I tipped you off on some TV broadcast frequency changes, both upcoming and those that already happened. Now I have a new station for you and others in the TC area to go fish...

Re: 106.9 WOOD FM

Agreed MWmetalhead. My home location is far enough east along M-57 that the auxiliary FM in use now breaks up too much for listening since the lightning strike they had until I’m a few miles further west. Also noticeable is that the HD decoding is gone (in the one car I have with that technology), a...

Re: WTLJ adding 3 subchannels

Another finding: I looked ahead to 8/31 through 9/2 dates in TitanTV, and it appears that on 9/1: WOTV 41.3 will become Charge! Reintroducing it over-the-air in our market, and eliminating the current redundancy of Grit (already available on WZPX 43.3). My wife and I have gotten accustom to finding ...

Re: WTLJ adding 3 subchannels

Hello format this and Trophyhead, I have no industry insight, but can offer these observations/guesses: * Ours is not the only market with TCT-owned stations having "Coming Soon" sub-channels pop up in the last couple of days. Posters on AVSForum have noticed the same in the Flint/Tri-Cities market ...

Dodge auto radio catch last night (Tues. 8/24 approx. 10pm): WUPS 98.5 from TL by Houghton Lake. Received in Lowell, MI while crossing the Grand River bridge by the current Kent County Fairgrounds. And for several minutes and miles northbound on Lincoln Lake Ave. through a downpour. Was breaking up ...

Re: WCCW AM tower site for sale

There's lots of ways to go to keep the license for now. ... Looks like the WCCW site was just the AM tower until the FM antenna was put on the same tower. Described in History Card as on Barney Rd. 2.0 miles West of Traverse City. It was 31 watts PSSA and 500 watts PSA. https://www.fccdata.org/?lan...

Re: Green Bay OTA TV reception from manistee

Hi Makitaman! I had wondered if you'd chime in on this thread. Seems like it's been forever since you've posted! I see your mention that one of the Green Bay stations you receive ~85% is WLUK Fox 11.1 (and its diginets) on RF12. Did you notice that WLUK's move to RF18 has been all approved by the FC...

The new Katz Networks offerings that launched today nationwide are available in our market:

17-4 is now TrueReal, in widescreen SD.
43-6 is now DeFy, also in widescreen SD.

Re: WLLA has subs… lots of them…

I suspect carriage of home shopping networks is a form of revenue generation for niche / little known broadcasters such as WLLA. Indeed, I'm very much assuming that it's the shop-at-home channels that brought this about. It's been fun watching WLLA's Facebook posts. On May 27, they posted that they...

Re: Location of Traverse City TV towers.

Hello mars, The post by TC Talks intrigued me too, so I tried to find a thread about OTA Antenna configuration. I, like you, can't find it. There's a chance it was lost in the "gap" when a few months of posts were lost to a necessary restore a couple of years ago. That's when MW found out that his s...

Re: Location of Traverse City TV towers.

Hello mars, Welcome to cord cutting! I don't live "Up North", but grew up there and have been helping family and friends in the area with getting TV antennas in place. I'll offer these thoughts: 1. Tower locations: In the spirit of "teaching to fish", here's the most up-to-date search page for TV to...

Re: TV 9&10 Harbor Springs Translator?

Looks to be on the WMKC/WCMW tower. If there are two translators serving pretty much the same area, I don't see why all networks couldn't be carried on the two translators. They appear to be different owners. It's not just the 2 LPTV filings for Harbor Springs/Elmhurst that the Iacobelli family is ...
