Re: Detroit’s Worst Stations In 2018
The CRTC might say "no, you'll crush CHYR with your bigger signal, even if they are more popular. they're the incumbent, so find another format to play, or go back to your original licensed format...." Trying to back-door a format change this way could get bell's hand slapped hard, so they better be...

Re: Detroit’s Worst Stations In 2018
My contenders for worst stations? In no particular order.... CIDR-FM: 93.9 The River started out as canada's first adult album alternative station but over time it grew to become a hybrid of AAA and alt-rock... and as we all saw, that began eroding the ratings of sister CIMX 89X (which had enough of...

Re: CFZM Zoomer Radio 740
Zoomers? they're "Boomers with Zip!" as station owner Moses Znaimer described them in an interview a few years back. and yes, he's the same guy that helped start CityTv back in 1972, and popularized the idea of the news anchor standing and moving about the station at CityTv and the NewNet (later A-C...

Re: Subchannels
I wish WHNE would channel-share with WUDT (Daystar) once that station moves to VHF 8 again.... at the very least, it'll cover Detroit and the inner suburbs pretty well. The only reason it failed last time it was on VHF 8 was becuase of the laughably low power it used (300 watts), when 3 kW is more r...

Re: Worst Cartoon You Can Remember Growing Up (Or In General)
Sharky & George (an old CINAR, now Cookie Jar, cartoon from the early 1990s). Used to watch it on Global and on YTV back in the day. the concept was corny and the animation quality was really bad. like... their budget for the whole series wouldn't even buy dinner.

I think this is going to be a new network, like Justice Network... or how the digital subnet Heartland TV started off as "The Nashville Network" for a couple of years before rebranding...

I see seven towers surrounding a transmitter building. Looks like they finally managed to get some land and get some towers up!

Re: Best Christmas Songs...
who can forget this motown classic: "Darlene Love - Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)"?
I love that song! such powerful vocals and a great beat!
Elton John - Step Into Christmas is also an excellent song that I love to listen to no matter what date is on the calendar

I wonder if that's just a stepping-stone to the big market next door (Chicago)... she certainly has the potential to anchor the news at WLS in the future...

Re: Radio And the year you Graduated.
I graduated in 2005 and already was listening to WOMC (Oldies 104.3) becuase I did (and still do) love oldies... though WMGC Magic 105.1 and "Soft Rock Favourites" 100.3 WNIC were frequent guests on my radio as well. Rounding things out when i was in a heavier mood would be WCSX 94.7 and WRIF 101.1....

Re: WNWO (NBC 24 Toledo) on RF 23
I am just shy of locking on to WNWO on UHF 23.... i bet it would lock if WUDT in Detroit moved already. Though, if they move back to their own tower and boost the power slightly....

Re: New News Channel coming to WHNE 14.9
don't most SD feeds eat only 1-2 MB of bandwidth? if so, then having a dozen or so subchannels is feasible without *too* much degradation or compression
