Re: T-Town radio predictions 2023

I strongly suspect some stations don't blackout online streams as they are required to do during MLB broadcasts. SXM has all broadcasts available on all of its apps and on the bird (accessible so long as a subscriber has a package that includes sports). I pay about $6 a month, fees and tax included,...

Cool article about WRIF's voiceover guy

He also does a ton of voiceover work for Fox News, for 106.3 The Core in Saginaw, and several other rock and classic rock stations owned by Beasley Media: https://wrif.com/2023/03/16/the-incredible-story-of-the-blind-man-whose-voice-you-hear-on-wrif/ Abstract: This is a story about someone you may n...

Re: 102.5 serving Hillsdale and Adrian to flip to K-Love or Air1 soon

After checking out the station online, I must say WBZV exceeded my expectations! It is surprisingly good. They do a much better job blending classic rock staples with 90s rock than Detroit's Fake Wheels 106.7, or for that matter, sleepy 107.7 WRKR. It's a shame this station is likely going away soon.

Re: Ron Cameron

I came across this slob's radio show Sunday afternoon while channel surfing. A caller who sounded like a near clone of Ron asked if he was going to have Paul Woods on as a guest. Ron said he was planning to schedule him for that very day's show, but he couldn't because Paul's phone number was writte...

Re: T-Town radio predictions 2023

I love the phony coverage map in WMTR's website. I more or less agree with Curly. The Tigers stink, and most people who regularly listen to baseball on terrestrial radio are over the age of 55. No station of any significance would want Tigers baseball right now, especially in a market where MLB team...

Re: City of Grand Haven evicts WGHN-FM from tower due to lease violations

Interesting. Is the harmonics situation an issue involving 92.1 broadcasting from the same tower, or does it involve something else?

WKQI sets new AQH share record for 95.5 FM

Their 7.3 share is almost but barely not quite good enough for 1st place overall honors, which belong to WCSX (and its 7.4 share). Incorporating more throwbacks into the playlist seems to be helping 95.5 a lot. Crappy programming on 96.3 and crappy audio on 93.9 for a good portion of the survey peri...

Where the hell is Erie County?

Heard it mentioned on multiple WWJ traffic reports this afternoon regarding an I-75 traffic backup near Monroe. On at least four separate reports, the reporter mentioned backups to mile marker 12 ("into Erie County"). Did our favorite WWJ traffic reporter mean Lucas County, OH? Perhaps Erie ROAD (ne...

Re: Schuerman

About time Loco 4 split weekend weather duties between two people.

Having one person pull double shifts with minimal sleep between Saturday's late news and Sunday's early AM news was idiotic.

Looks like Bryan S. will be doing weekend mornings and Ron will be handling weekend evenings.

Re: NCAA tournament

I think Matt's prediction regarding MSU is going to prove to be spot on. MSU is playing good basketball right now. They're on the verge of an impressive win over Marquette. How often does a team move? The geographic names are based on the sites of the regional final and little else. For example, som...

Re: WCXI shenanigans

That is a definite possibility, but I think just about everyone has had power restored for a good 10 days by now. The other thought that crossed my mind is perhaps something got screwed up in conjunction with the switch to daylight savings time, but it seems to me that sort of screw-up would cause t...

Regarding Fostoria, let's see: -A bunch of small, rundown looking houses with overgrown weeds in the yard -A rather bleak central business district with plenty of empty storefronts -The only grocery store I remember seeing was a Save-a-Lot -The streetscape along US 23 was very tired looking From Wik...
