I Don't Care What You Say Anymore, This Is MyLife
Anybody check their MyLife Reputation Score? Kind of grinds me that my unrequited HS crush is 0.1 higher than me! But satisfying that it's so close. I think she thought that I was not in her league socioeconomically. But sometimes I think its hilarious when people who are really arrogant have a scor...

Re: Reality And Dreams On A Fluffy Cumulus Cloud
Seems like I measured WQTE...WHND...WRDT up near Flint when I had an FI meter. It was 0.8 mV/m. 50000 watts would be 8 mV/m at the same location. It seems like they actually input 441 watts to the antenna, if I remember correctly, to bring the efficiency down slightly. So that would be with 44,100 w...

Re: Hudson Tower (Building Under Construction) & Initial FM Collocation Analysis
In 1953, WWJ-FM filed an application for 100 kW from 900 feet on the WWJ-TV 4 tower, which was allowed in remote areas of Zone II, which it was then, before Zone I was expanded. Not sure why it was turned down. I'll see if I can find out. I'll look to see when WXYZ-FM and WOMC and WLDM were approved...

Re: Reality And Dreams On A Fluffy Cumulus Cloud
Well, I did calculate what the signal would be for 50 kW into a three tower in line endfire array from the old WPAG site near Briarwood Mall. Using M-3, the 5 mV/m contour reached the SW corner of Flint, so my dream of it blasting in was SOMEWHAT accurate, a city grade AM signal 50-55 miles away. Be...

Re: FCC Crackdown On Badly Maintained AM Facilities?
Maybe this is the start of the AM Band thinning out, If the owners can’t afford the maintenance on a facility time to hand in the license. What is your take CK-722? The thing is, if they lose the AM, they lose the translator, if they have one. The other thing is, the AM can usually cover a lot more...

FCC Crackdown On Badly Maintained AM Facilities?
I've noticed several AMs that are suddenly quite a bit stronger than they have been in a while. It could be just the extremely cold weather. But I wonder if there have been any rumors of a crackdown on poorly maintained AM facilities. There seem to be quite a few AMs that are not at their full facil...

I realize that having LASIK Smile is no where near as unnecessary as this case. I'm not comparing this surgery to hers. But it illustrates the dangers of Elective Surgery.
I rest my case.

Re: Hudson Tower (Building Under Construction) & Initial FM Collocation Analysis
Anyone see any construction above ground at the building site? I think some people are rejecting the idea of the multiplex site on the basis of personal safety in the vicinity. I understand their concern. The building would likely have its own security police force, if large buildings and complexes ...

Re: The Ticket West Michigan
As one example, in Genesee County, I could get WWWS/WTLZ, WPAG-FM/WQKL, WHLS-FM/WSAQ, and sometimes WITW/WCKC, as all reached sign off in order, separated by 1 hour. Another was WDTM/WLLZ, WWRM/WKPK/WSRT, and WYEN/WPPN on 106.7 just by turning the rotator with an Antennacraft/Archer FM-10. Null dept...

Re: 106.1 FM on the air right now
Solid reception on my car’s radio at 68th St. & 131. No signal heard up here in Fremont. Phew. Some of those GR translators have really killed the dial up here. 90.7 is a minor pest at just 13 watts and more than 35 miles. 99.5 Lowell has killed a good part of 99.5 here (one of the more potent ones...

Re: Hudson Tower (Building Under Construction) & Initial FM Collocation Analysis
WRIF, WOMC, WKQI, WXYT-FM, and WCSX, maybe even short spaced WDVD (to coowned WHNN) and WYCD (to FLR's WUGN), are probably too good to mess with, I agree, grandfathering and such. WCSX has the short spaced Port Clinton station on 94.5 also, as well as WCEN-FM Hemlock. I saw on the History Card that ...

Re: CanCon You Like, CanCon You Don't Like
I didn't know Motherlode ( "When I Die," 1969 ) ,were London,Ont. lads until last year . "When I die" is one of my favourite songs . First charted by CKNX 920 and CHLO 680, before moving to 1570. Debuted on CHLO 680 at #38 on 5-14-68 chart. CHLO took over the old CFPL frequency of 1570 soon after, ...

Re: The Ticket West Michigan
Accepted for Filing. Impedance changed more than 2%, so has to file for direct measurement of power. Not a big deal. And I wonder if there should be different threshold for omni vs. DA. Thoughts? https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=101800709&for...

Re: WIOG is #1 in Saginaw-Bay City; WGER barely defeats Houghton Lake station
Realistically, probably. There are other factors like terrain that aren't addressed by Section 73.333. https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&facid=2484&appid=1494616&i=2 https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&facid=200080&appid=1799744&i=2 I think the whole translator situation is damaging to the FM Band. I'm not agai...

Re: Hudson Tower (Building Under Construction) & Initial FM Collocation Analysis
Hadn't thought about the PATH between Downriver and Ann Arbor, which if you look at that Quaternary Geology Map Of Michigan, is all Clay Silt, in awhile. Probably > 8. On the other hand, between 8 Mile Meyers and to the West Southwest, it crosses some less favorable areas to the signal North of Ann ...
